Pros

Schedules are a bit more flexible compared to other companies, but it doesn't really mitigate the amount of stress you'll experience from working here.

Cons

Expectations are outrageously high, and the support and compensation provided to employees don't match them at all! You're basically signing up to be overworked and underpaid. Unless that sounds great to you, you should look for other companies to work for instead of settling for Tepperman's.

Pros

The schedule is fair and you work a true 40 hour work week which is flexible.

Cons

The culture here is SO toxic. Company management mistakes random giveaways (of old company electronics) and inconsistent/ staged anniversary photo ops as positive company culture, but doesn’t listen to feedback or concerns. Instead of rewarding team members with salary increases, financial incentives, and or even recognizing a job well done with acknowledgement or praise, they spend money on large breakfasts where we have listen to speeches worshipping the Tepperman family, and gift cheap company logo branded product that no one wants or would use. The internal recognition website is never used by senior leadership (only department managers or store managers), and on the rare occasion that you do receive points by someone, it is taxable so it is not fully a reward. When people quit (or get fired as there has been a lot of that recently), those roles are not replaced and the people left are expected to pick up that workload without any compensation. It is a regular part of company culture to blame others and point fingers (even when the decision was made by senior leadership) and feedback from management is always negative. Expectations and rules for team members (on everything from work schedule, workload and individual contribution, dress code, respect/ behaviour in the workplace, etc,) is different depending on the department/ store and is often driven by internal politics; the inconsistency and unfairness is crazy. Concerns, questioning leadership and decisions, and differing opinions is seen as negative and not being a team player, and when feedback is collected by the company by way of a survey, the results disappear and nothing is done. Tepperman’s claims “ We provide opportunities for career growth to employees at all levels “; When roles do become available it is common that we are not made aware and they are filled without any public or internal job postings! It is done secretly and suddenly there is a new hire - London DC Manager x 2, London DC Supervisor, Sustainability and Facilities Manager, Windsor DC Manager, Accessories Buyer, Appliances/ Electronics Buyer, Head of Marketing, Head of DC Operations - just to name a few. Ultimately, this is not a healthy place to work but if you do, it is best to just keep your head down, do what you are told, and not get too invested.

Pros

You get paid if you do work. Other than that, there is no reason to work here. Stay far, far away!

Cons

The leadership is incompetent, evil, and fake. These terrible people live in a bubble, which is far, far away from reality. They set insane expectations and expect employees to handle brutal stress. They are never there when you need help. But they are always there when you mess up, and they want to humiliate you. The attitude of my colleagues wasn't good either. These arrogant people never showed up when I needed help, but expected me to handle a ton of work for them. I refused, and they plotted against me to kick me out. It was insane. The clients are the worst. They are entitled people who think that you are a puppet who will dance their tune. You really have no support from your colleagues or the leadership, so they exploit that weakness.
