Sudden turn - redundancies

Pros

It was a good place because people were great, friendly and helpful.

Cons

Sudden turn of events in October - almost half of the people were made redundant. Just a week or two before the announcement the company was hiring people - bad management - bad planning. Lack of transparency.

House of Cards

Pros

Data are exciting, the most sensitive and rich dataset about people. One is able to pursue any intriguing endeavour she can think of and experiment with trending technology in big data.

Cons

Since I joined four or five people have left. Mismanagement and political fight turn it to a house of cards. Good developers are leaving. Some people are waste of space. I don't know why they are not fired. If I have a choice, I would go too!

Why am I still working here

Pros

if not for the great people i'm working with now and in the past, I would left. not many interesting start-ups in zürich, so this seems to be one. only if it stayed in the good old days.

Cons

the hierarchy of this young and broken kingdom is a mess. title flies, cold wars, managers sector territories. you look high up, oh, CEO (the king, yeah, he talks and assumes as if he's one) is over there (sometimes), pretend to care for you but don't. and around him gathered his bunch of ministers (the many level of managers), who usually do nothing but manage in a counter productive way. but there were the same amount of junkies and brilliant guys around. it took ages if ever for them to realise good people's value and even longer if ever badness of people should let go.
