      Beautiful property, many opportunities to transfer into new roles and departments, all day access to employee cafeteria which was always stocked with breakfast and lunch items and a hot buffet (prior to covid protocols), food and beverage team was a very nice tight knit community that felt like family (this is the best thing about working here), employee discount offered at sister resorts across the country, you’re always well taken care of if you were to visit the property with friends and family on your off day.

      Cons

      Extremely bureaucratic and political work culture, too many “hush hush” power moves within the executive team, pay vs. the amount of work required doesn’t equate, work/life balance is not prioritized for those in management roles & managers operate at high stress levels, most offices are tucked away in the resort with no windows or view of the property grounds, parking is limited and employees must park offsite and take a shuttle to the resort at least 3 days per week for 6-7 months out of the year (additional time required for this is not paid). I was amongst the first to get laid off when Covid hit even after working there for 9 years as I had just moved into a new role and was seen as a “new” member of the team.

      Instead of shoving free food and snacks in the faces of employees, how about a pay increase? I guess that is too hard to ask for. No wonder employees are on the verge of unionizing. Also the microaggressions from management I endured was insufferable. I wear my hair naturally curly and I could not believe the disgusted looks I would get. One of my managers even had the audacity to say that I looked like I smell like patchouli oil! If you are someone of African America/Caribbean descent BEWARE, this place does not target our demographic for a reason and they make it VERY clear.

      Nice view of the ocean

      This was an extremely surprisingly difficult company to work for. I had high hopes since they regard themselves as a five star resort but everything they did was very mediocre from the training to the quality of food/service they would provide for high paying customers. The lack of leadership and prioritization of bad employees makes this company a very inhospitable workplace.
