Pros

Co-workers are nice and fun to work with. Free meal on each shift.

Cons

Management is only looking out for themselves. You will get told by different management people on how to do your job and it is never consistent.

Not What It Should Be

Pros

Decent pay and fellow employees for the most part are great.

Cons

Poor management. There is almost no training that happens and if you've worked catering before, odds are you know more than the people running the place. It is amazing the things they let slip by that shouldn't (like food getting out late for a wedding). I worked catering before, and compared to where I used to work, the Edgewater does not come close to the quality and professional service they claim to have.

Pros

bus card and free lunch

Cons

The people that work at this place walk around like Edgewater is the best thing in madison and that type of attitude makes employees act like they are above others..Its very clickish... yes they give you a meal every day.. but trust me sales doesn't sit with housekeepers.. they feel they are above them.. if you aren't wearing a shirt and tie you aren't treated with very much respect. Hispanics only clean there rooms.. that's all they want from them.. nothing else .. they don't even communicate in memo's to housekeepers in spanish.. because they don't care... Front office looks down on everyone.. if you don't work in the front office.. they really don't want to have anything to do with you.. take it from me .. unless you have been in the hotel business for a while .. i don't recommend working here if your just starting off in hotels.. The hotel is ran by management who knows nothing about hotels.. policies are just made up from the sky when something goes wrong.. they have no systems in place.. they just kind of wing it.. I DON'T SUGGEST ANY JOB DEALING WITH FOOD AND BEVERAGE... TRUST ME
