      Pros

      Good benefits, and a stable company. The Cat brand is a leader in the equipment industry. Thompson has a strong organization, especially in the earthmoving division, with a record of promoting from within.

      Cons

      The rental division lacks professional leaders on the branch level. Very few college educated managers, and many were promoted above their abilities. The rental division seems to be unique in this compared to the rest of the company. Overall great company, just could use some house cleaning in the rental side.

      Nepotism tends to be very prevalent, especially when moving into management. Sometimes who you know is more important than what you know.
