I have been working at Topps Tiles full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good environment, good company culture, varied rewards on offer, leadership make sensible decisions and strategically sound. Stable growth seems to be favoured over big risks for big rewards, which means you are unlikely to be worried about your job security. Cross department working is above average. Progression is decent, as roles are adaptable and varied.

    Cons

Salary is OK, but it'd not hard to get better elsewhere. Bonus is generous but most people will not be able to contribute in a meaningful way, which means you have to rely on others.

    Advice to Management

Generally speaking you don't need to change anything. I feel if you want to get and retain the best people you need to be more competitive, or at least be more generous to other roles as you can always find jobs that pay better elsewhere, sometimes you can get a basic salary which is better than salary+bonus here.

I have been working at Topps Tiles full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The customers. It's nice to see that customers are excited about their project, and they are usually pretty thankful for your support. The training is also pretty exceptional. The company has high expectations in your service ability, and you will always be encouraged to improve.

    Cons

Health & safety - There is A LOT of lifting involved, with only gloves to protect you. No lifting belt, or anything else to protect your back. Yes, you receive training - but the training is unrealistic to store layouts. The fair majority of people I have met in the company have some type of back problems from the job - including myself now. The Pay -- For the work that you must undertake, the pay is simply... not appropriate. Working in a busy store will mean a high-stress environment. The longer you are there, the more responsibilities you will receive with no pay rise.

    Advice to Management

Look after your staff better. Have limits to how much should be lifted in a period of time, and more importantly, provide a weight-lifting belt or something to help protect your back. Regular breaks should also be added to the contracts. After loading a customer's car of 500+kg, I should be entitled to a paid rest period. A period of no lifting, to look after my back.
