Pros

The cause is a good one

Cons

Salaries are low. Too much ambition, not enough staff. Leadership do not prioritize training, growth or wellbeing. Teams very competitive and do not believe in team work. Hierarchical and toxic.

Pros

Passionate, open and dedicated bunch of general staff with good and ambitious intentions in the realms of anti-corruption, transparency and open governance. Working in a multi-disciplined circle gave me great exposure to working across projects, albeit at a more junior level, but with the opportunity to build one's own personal network in the Secretariat, the Movement and with key stakeholders of the organisation. Flexible working attitude in terms of a trust-based system for one's working hours (yet this also has its downsides, too, in terms of disparity between the working hours of different departments).

Cons

TI-S (as you will see from other reviews) is still in the process of a drawn-out, rather painful reorganisation which has led to several redundancies in recent months. Ironically, the rationale behind the redundancies by previous management was not transparent, and was particularly draining in terms of general morale and staff's energy, drained by endless meetings and proposals to try to save costs. The practice of initial short-term contracts open to renewal is rather unstable for the employer, particularly in context of organisational restructuring. From my personal perspective, management have not been clear as to the reasons behind recent redundancies and long-term strategy, alongside organisational change. Despite its attempts to be more flat, there is little support in terms of job progression, besides relying on one's own initiative to push for more content work and responsibility.

Pros

The people are really dedicated and enthusiastic.

Cons

A lot of mismanagement, lack of funding for projects, and short-term contracts for junior staff.
