I went through the full recruitment process for a Chef role, including interview and trial shift. I was told I had been successful, received a start date and rota, and was advised to give notice at my current job so I could begin with them on time. However, despite this urgency, I waited more than a month for a formal contract, which was never sent. After all that waiting, HR contacted me to say the role had been withdrawn due to internal changes and that they were no longer recruiting for the position. The communication remained polite, but candidates should be cautious. Even after being advised to resign from my current job and being given start details, the offer was ultimately withdrawn without a contract ever being issued.
