-Very poor leadership. The board of directors, compromised of former employees of bell telephone company, wield way too much authority. As far as I know, none have actual banking experience but they are the primary driver of company policy.
-Upper management implements things that really don’t make sense. A lot of their ideas seem half baked; they give no real thought to how their decisions affect those on the front line.
-Branch employees are treated mostly as an afterthought, and are continuously given more and more responsibility that used to belong to other departments, with no additional pay.
-Management is so afraid of losing business that they will immediately and completely bend over for an angry member, regardless of how abusive they are to staff.
-Work/life balance is awful. You will work late nights, weekends, and yes, even Sundays.
-Many employees are able to skate by, coasting off of the backs of the more hard working employees - who of course receive no additional recognition or compensation.
-You will receive yearly raises, but in my time there I never received more than 3%, which is considered a good raise, but barely accounts for inflation.
-Benefits are trash.
