Pros
The people are kind, smart, hard-working, and innovative, and there are policies in place to make sure people can do their best work without getting bogged down in red tape. Leaders are trusted to run their departments as they see fit, and the expertise of team members is valued. New products and features being developed and released regularly is great for remaining competitive in the market, so the company is growing quickly and feels exciting! The culture is fun, but professional, and a great balance for the hard work. The in-person meetings throughout the year help everyone feel connected even while fully remote. The people team has recently put in place a lot of frameworks to better define roles and help people understand how to advance. As an added bonus, the benefits are outstanding. Salaries are extremely competitive, health insurance costs almost nothing, the unlimited PTO really is unlimited, the company matches 4% on 401k (which is unheard of in a series A startup), and there are a whole host of other benefits and stipends available for coworking, learning and development, wellness, and more.
Cons
As with any startup, you have to be comfortable with ambiguity and changing directions as new opportunities come up. As a result, there are times when you'll work a lot of hours to bring something to reality or support a customer trying something new. If you are someone who wants to know exactly what you'll be working on day to day, or you like to follow a deep set of established processes that never change, this company (or any startup) is probably not a fit!
