      Pros

      Enjoyed my time there. Never a dull moment. If you want a routine job, don't come here, but if you want to be challenged and have opportunities to work on technology you'll likely not have at larger companies, than US Wired is for you! Management was competent, friendly and supportive. Patrick S, the COO, was a great motivator.

      Cons

      Mostly on-the-job training or self-study. Lacked formal classroom training, but Bob K, their IT Architect, was a great mentor.

      Setting the record straight

      Pros

      USWired gave me a chance during the Great Recession when no one else would and believed in me. I've learned so much during my time there, and the knowledge and experience that I gained have catapulted my career in IT. It was a privilege to be in the presence of some of the smartest people in the industry. I've worked at other smaller IT service companies, and USWired far exceeds the others in terms of structure, management, and career advancement.

      Cons

      I have been very surprised at some of the negative reviews written about the company since joining Glassdoor, and could no longer keep my silence after seeing the latest one pop into my inbox, as I know from my former co-workers, that they were all written by the same former employee who has an ax to grind. He's obviously got some issues and needs to move on with his life. He's burned his bridge, and is now embarking on a scorched earth smear campaign.

      Pros

      - Very talented, closely knit group of co-workers - Great potential for career advancement - Large, modern office - Easy access to management who actually takes the time listen to you - Chance to work with cutting-edge technology - Excellent opportunity to learn and expand my knowledge - Nice perks, including regular company sponsored social events

      Cons

      - A few long-time, very negative, lazy, technically weak engineers who feel entitled simply because of their seniority and whine constantly about everything, affecting morale for the rest of us. I was hired "from the outside" to strengthen the team and help counterbalance these deadweights. Fortunately, most, if not all, have quit or were laid off. - Commute isn't the greatest since the office is located in a popular North San Jose location (next to PayPal and the airport) but then again, there is no good commute in the Bay Area
