      Caring, skilled professionals but...

      Pros

Respectful and skilled professionals; veterans appreciative; satellite clinic with excellent nurse manager.

      Cons

Lacks support staff from parent facility in Walla Walla; individuals are asked to process other jobs/tasks; not possible to complete daily patient panel tasks in 8 hr days - anticipate overtime and working weekends; overtime not likely approved - APPs are salary positions and other APPs working at CBOC who have been there for years are not often asking for their overtime pay. Challenges working for federal gov't. We want to serve and help the veterans, but high potential for cost of ones own health to do so. Poor to middling work-life balance at best. Need to be better supported by management in Walla Walla.

      Pros

Really easy to get for VA, surprising actually. The task was in line with my degree and enjoyed the daily bustle.

      Cons

Didn't like that it was hard to become perm. They prefer vets even if they are not qualified. But they have their priorities and I understand the purpose.

The patients - they are simply great! Benefits - you need to take these into account when looking at your total package.

      Cons

Switching between day and night shift within the same week. It is difficult and not healthy.
