Pros

Working as an intern at VHR has been a very stimulating experience. I have learned more than I had anticipated beforehand and got a great insight into other departments than the one I was primarily working with! I would definitely recommend VHR for an internship, if you want to learn as much as possible and get a great deal of responsibility and trust in you! Everybody is very approachable and the atmosphere in general is so much nicer than at some other places I have done internships at.. Plus you even get daily free fruit and (really good) coffee, it does not get much better than that! ;P

Cons

I couldn't really think of anything negative at this point. Maybe the fact that the (good) coffee is usually gone before the end of the week. But, then again, there's enough coffee for the rest of the week, just not the exceptional one! ;)

Pros

I was with VHR for more than two years and worked in their compliance / contracts department. One thing that I can say about this company is that it is one of the best (if not THE best) company I have ever worked for. Few aspects that make this company so good are: 1. It is very warm. You do not need to spend years in the company to feel like you are part of the family. Nowadays this is a pretty common thing to say - I currently work for a big multinational corporation and employees here also say that they feel like part of the family. But they say so because they have to. At VHR you honestly feel like part of a very big and nice family. 2. No matter what is your role, you get to own it. You get a lot of responsibilities but it is up to you to pick the way you want reach your goals. The balance between individualism and team work is just perfect. 3. There are a lot of perks that companies don’t generally offer. For example, you get to go to various trips (no no, not business trips but leisure!). VHR takes its employees to various countries for holidays just to say thank you for your hard work. 4. The structure is very flat. You can be an assistant or a director. In both cases you will be sitting at the same table and chatting to everyone as equals. People within the company tend to lead the way and show good examples themselves rather than push everyone from the back. 5. The owners of the company sit in the same open space and most of the time they are open for discussions. You can get answers to various queries very fast, which makes everyone’s work very efficient. Also, the owners of the company are really smart people and posses very wide knowledge in sales, compliance, legal, operations, etc. 6. HR is wonderful. For the company of this size, HR is incredible! They organise wonderful activities and you can always be sure that your voice will be heard. 7. If you have personal issues, the company will always accommodate your needs and will help you to deal with anything you are dealing with (of course, you have to accommodate the company’s needs, too!). 8. Personal development is very good. Even if you are a junior employee, you get to work on very high-level projects, which makes you learn a lot! You are constantly exposed to big decisions and you develop your knowledge at a very fast pace. I am sure there are things that I forgot to mention and I am sure I would not be able to write all of the good things here anyway. But certainly VHR is an incredible place to work!

Cons

As I said in my exit interview, I have exactly 0 complains about the company.

Pros

I loved working at VHR and was sad to leave the company when my husband's job forced us to move to the US. The office environment is friendly, open and upbeat and it inspired me to not only work hard but to enjoy what I did every day. A healthy breakfast was provided on-site daily, and after-work drinks were paid for by the Director at least once a month. VHR brings together a great team of ambitious and motivated individuals, all of whom I got along great with. The two directors always ensure that hard work is rewarded and that staff are engaged, challenged and aware of their pathway to promotion. There are regular team outings, and the team plays together just as much as they work together - there is a really nice balance there! The office is positioned in a great location with amazing views of Tower Bridge. The pay is very fair and the bonus structure/commission scheme is outstanding, so when you put in the maximum effort then you know you'll receive excellent compensation. No work environment if perfect all the time, but it was great to know that whenever I had an issue, I could talk to HR, my Manager or even one of the Directors, and they would do everything within their power to sensitively resolve the issue. VHR really does listen to the concerns and suggestions of its staff and is always striving to improve the way it does things. This has got to be one of the nicest places to work in London, particularly if - like me - you are focused on progressing your career.

Cons

No cons at all for me, but if you're looking for a job where can sit back and procrastinate all day then this dynamic workplace isn't the one for you.
