Pros

Onboarding process, The Learning and development team that developed the onboarding process is Amazing. However they all ran away to better services provider because of the awful work life balance and company culture. Sick days are good.

Cons

The salary is the lowest in the industry, President (Jan) uses the company to giver her children and her friends children high level jobs. Senior Management is awful they have no respect and no people skills (Angelica). No work life balance.Even thought staff maintained targets from home they were forced back to the office when Covid was still high and client were still refusing in person services. Very racist company. Take one look at senior management and see the lack of diversity. HR is just as bad you email them and they don't reply, when you speak with them they act as if your bothering them. Whole company should be closed and revamped starting with CEO. Everyone that cares about client's and is really dedicated to EO services has left for other services providers. At one time VPI was considered the best in the industry now they are considered one of the worst. There are so many better EO service providers and the ministry should check why VPI has suck bad reviews.

Pros

The only two pros of this place, and I mean ONLY two pros are; the salary is decent in comparison to the rest of the industry - however that is impacted by the negatives, and you really do have the opportunity to work with some amazing people on the frontline.

Cons

Where does one even begin? I worked at this organization for a few years, in various roles. There is never enough staffing so you are always overworked (hence why the pro of salary becomes a negative). They cannot keep anyone except for people who just don’t have any other options or are in with the evil (yes, I mean evil - will explain later) senior management team, so you are ALWAYS doing the job of minimum 2 full time positions, if not more. Once I was carrying the load of 4 full time positions. The culture does not care about the client, they care about the numbers, don’t be fooled - they fraud those all the time! I cannot tell you how many times I was demanded to ‘make the numbers’ no matter what. Close people to employed who came in employed, or close people to education who were going to VPI’s workshops, or putting through the same people over and over again to make the numbers for target in YJC and ES. The old senior management and the new senior management team are just as disgustingly evil. Not caring about any human being whatsoever. They talk about your personal business with everyone, judge you because you have a varying opinion, if you push back at all because you want to protect your team or the best interests of the clients, you are pushed out the door. I am floored that they are still in business, however the ministry doesn’t pay enough attention either, they don’t care - as long as it looks like they did what they were supposed to with the tax payers money, it’s all well. I left my position to accept one that was well under what I was being paid because it was so toxic. Imagine! In todays climate - a parent, a renter, a spouse expected to provide, that you would accept something almost 15k less because this place was killing your mental health, dignity and sanity so much. They will push you until you break, they will talk about you behind your back with other sr. managers, hr and even other staff. If someone gives their two weeks - tell them to pack up their things at the end of day and get out - not because of trade secrets, because they are just that malicious and petty. One office went through 5 managers in 9 months. Nothing had anything to do with competency. They are being paid millions of dollars of tax payers dollars to operate programs that are scamming with registering the same participants in it over and over, and what they presented for operational costs with staffing is 60% less than what they have employed. Stay away. Please do you and your family the justice of protecting yourself, stay away. Look up all the previous and current ‘directors’, every single one of them were vicious and didn’t care about the hurt they caused people as long as they kept eating all the money.

Pros

If you are lucky and get a good team to work with, then they are the only good thing about working at VPI and the only reason people stay from what i’ve seen and heard, otherwise most are planning an escape at some point. They try their best to better their image and processes but they move so slowly and will likely fail as a company before they can make a turn around.

Cons

shady company politics hierarchical approach lack of communication micromanagement rude/belittling treatment from upper management low empathy environment task delegation, no negotiation no growth false promises payroll errors programs ineffective profit focused company with a non profit image, quite deceptive outdated systems and online presence overcomplicated processes no room for suggestions despite poor system design baiting (bringing in highly qualified employees to have them stuck in low pay high pressure roles with no way out) high turnover (new hires almost always quit due to company culture, poor management, communication and high pressure without empathy)
