Pros

I've been with Veloicx for one year, and it has been a great experience. Velocix has supported their employees during difficult times (Covid-19), sending care packages, regular touchpoints (formal and informal) for staff during remote working. There are also great opportunities for career advancement as Veloicx belongs to a larger group (Lumine), so worth keeping that in mind when reviewing longer-term career prospects. I am looking forward to meeting more of the team at Veloicx as I have only met in a digital world. In summary, I can highly recommend Velocix as a great place to work!

Cons

Not really a con, but I did my initial research on Glassdoor and saw the negative feedback on Velocix, but during the first stage of interviewing, I very quickly realised the company had gone through a restructuring which will, of course, have a negative impact here from former employees. But look a the whole picture, the company has turned a corner and in great hands with the leadership and hard-working teams across the group. My only negative so far, which is beyond the company's control, is that I have been unable to meet anyone face to face due to joining during Covid-19 lockdown, but I hope that will resolve toward the end of 2021.

Pros

Was a great place to work. Challenging. Smart People to work with. Good market traction in the past.

Cons

I have sympathy for the customers and employees. Politics Management decision making lack of relevant strategy. They were the market leader, expanded with multi site development, attempted to develop new products, which failed probably due to multi site development. Old CEO brought in lots of Lucent wireless chums with no market experience and an awful culture. Instead of sorting out the fundamental issues so products could be brought to market, re-org after re-org, politics and the good people started to leave. Now you have restructuring and more people leaving by force or by choice. Ontop of that dreamt up a number of crazy new products, which have all failed either because they were ill conceived or just incapable of being delivered due to focus/burn of the previous failed deliveries or incapable engineering teams.

Pros

Friendly and helpful colleagues (but expect them to leave or be fired) Reasonable work/life balance Flexibility to work from home Reasonable pay New office Some of the customers are big names in the telco industry

Cons

No communication at all from new Senior Management People continuously leaving or being made redundant No innovation at all Company works in a closed environment on its own, but the video ecosystem is big and open No visibility on company strategy, future is clearly uncertain No annual review, no training, no career progression Miscommunication from former Senior Management (former CEO kept saying how great the sale of Velocix from Nokia to Volaris was going to be and he stayed less than 2 months) No bonus for the work done in 2019 although a bonus was promised before 2019
