I have been working at Version 1 part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I was part of an acquisition, but I’ve never looked back. Definitely a workplace and company that I would, and have, recommended.

Very professional and is a highly supportive company to employees. They really understand that people are essential as well as the cost base and the customers.

Core values are genuinely displayed and lived through all levels of the company.

Transparency from higher management with direct access to the CEO etc.

Family like environment at the office.

Managers provide the right level of support and encouragement to take on new challenges. Colleagues pull together and are happy to help.

Quarterly reviews – sounds onerous but they really work and provide a two way base for feedback, job satisfaction and development leading to progression.

Everyone is approachable and easy to deal with.

I think you would have to go a long way to find a better company to work for.

    Cons

None unless you are work shy or want to coast.

I have been working at Version 1 full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I joined the London team just over 6 months ago and have found everyone at Version 1 hugely welcoming. Version 1 prides itself as being a values-driven organisation and I have seen this in action with its client interactions, recruitment process, performance management process etc. The other thing that really stands out is growth - they are committed to growing, both organically and through acquisition. This creates a very positive dynamic I haven't seen (to the same extent) in other similar organisations.

Definitely an organisation I would recommend.

    Cons

Nothing significant - office space being addressed as the team grows.

    Advice to Management

    Keep going!

I have been working at Version 1 full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have been with the company for 2 months now, and what an excellent initial experience! From the initial superb induction day, which was concise and interesting and really good background, and excellent to meet other joiners.

This has the feel of a very professional and is a highly supportive company to employees. They really understand that people are essential and not just a cost base, people in fact are one of the three pillars of the organisation, and they really follow-through on this.

From my line manager, to HR, and the project environment, everything appears very top class, and Version 1 are one to watch for the future of consulting, I feel confident, and very happy to be a part of it.

They are prolific in terms of awards entering and my personal impression is that they are doing this to prove to the market as well as to existing employees that we are valued. The constant communication from the management about where we are going , the values and the three pillars really show how you fit in and why you are important.

If you get the chance to work here, and there is a lot of opportunity in a n established, growing, successful company, take it!

    Cons

Haven't seen anything over and above the usual issues with a consulting type role.

    Advice to Management

    Keep going!

I have been working at Version 1 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Transparency from higher management with direct access to the CEO etc
Family like environment at the office - at least in the Belfast Office
Quarterly reviews which take into consideration the feedback from the employees
Once of the few places where I have seen the core values being preached is practised too
Great opportunity for career growth, where the initiative comes from the employee rather than the employer.
Employees from various cultural background, joyously working together towards common goals and core values
Flexible work from home opportunities depending on the nature of the projects

    Cons

It's a rapidly growing company - which comes with it's own challenges.
The offices are not the best that I have seen, when it comes to features. But that is being changed through office renovations

    Advice to Management

Don't loose the focus on the importance given to the employees and the cultural values, that is given currently, as the company grows
