Pros

Absolutely nothing good to say about this company

Cons

Vitec is all about who you know and how well you can flatter management rather than ability. The leadership team are uninspiring, rude, demanding, don't appear to be engaged with their own teams and what is happening. More interested in making themselves look good. Same 'favourites' are always the ones that get the benefits and opportunities. Large number of hard working staff seem to be invisible. Communication is an issue, not confident with management decisions that have been made. Issues are not addressed. There were times in my employment that I was spoken to in such a way that I would not expect my worst enemy to speak to me in such a way, let alone a colleague or management. Overall lots of issues urgently need addressing to avoid an increase in already high staff turnover.

Pros

This company could be so good if we had the right leader. We have great brands and products and despite everything, the people (not talking about the leadership here) are consistently supportive, conscientious, committed, good people. If we actually had a great leader, with a clear strategy who gave a damn about people, this could be a great place to work.

Cons

Where to start. The top. The current leader manages through intimidation and bullying. You can have an opinion, just as long as it matches his. The company has been in disarray for a number of years, but the current management style is affecting employees more than ever. I see many people all over the world when travelling for work, and not one site that I have visited is untouched, many employees are broken. If you are thinking of joining Vitec, I would think again.

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry for the delayed response. I do read and take all reviews seriously. I believe that after experiencing some very difficult market conditions Vitec has changed for the better and in most areas is already a great company to work for. I’m sorry that’s not your experience. My job is to make the company world class. We may not be world class in every area yet but we are leaders in the markets where we operate. I am listening - please email me directly to discuss your specific concerns at: sbird@vitecgroup.com

Pros

Manufacturer and seller of some of the best brands in the industry with some great knowledgable people still around

Cons

I can't believe the current situation that Vitec has found themselves in. The intimidation that seems to be rippling through the organisation, leading employees that have been in the business for decades that know their jobs inside out, employees that have probably forgotten more than the current management team will ever know, to be sat in meetings shaking with fear, crippled with anxiety and terrified to speak. The leadership from the top is swiftly paralysing the creativity, passion and drive of its staff and turning us all into mutes simply keeping out of the spotlight and collecting a pay check. In a bid to try and ease the current staff turmoil new Long Service Awards have been put in place, in the vane hope that this will revitalise staff's enthusiasm and to paper over the cracks of the blatant poor management, but they couldn't even get this tick box exercise right. Most logical people would backdate any awards that would be due to staff if they were not currently on a 5 year increment, not this leadership team! The whole point of motivating the staff has been missed and had quite the opposite effect with years of service not being recognised because they are not within 18 months from the previous 5 year anniversary. They are not even intelligent enough to understand that this would put people's noses out of joint and demotivate them still further. I could go on, but like many in the business, I don't have it within me anymore.
