Pros

* The office environment is pleasant. * The company supports a healthy work-life balance. * Complimentary lunch is provided at the office. * There is a well-stocked snack cabinet with a variety of snacks and fresh fruits. * Employees enjoy the benefit of unlimited paid time off (PTO). * The company offers flexible working arrangements. * There are attractive perks, including a points system and various complimentary items.

Cons

* The management style tends to be top-down with a focus on task-oriented micro-management, and employees feel restricted in expressing dissenting opinions. * There are concerns about management taking credit for the work of employees. * There have been instances where senior management engaged in activities that some might find inappropriate, such as playing a game where they name the "10 people you hate most in the company." * There have been reports of management using the "silent treatment" approach, which involves excluding employees from important meetings or conversations. * There appears to be a lot of confidential discussions and gossip about colleagues, which can create a divisive atmosphere. * The workplace is described as highly political. * The environment can be perceived as clique-oriented, with concerns that hiring practices may favor personal connections over skills. * Concerns have been raised about the behavior of some senior leaders, including instances of perceived bullying and unfair treatment. * Some employees perceive the work environment as toxic or negative.

Thanks for sharing both the positives and the concerns – it’s helpful to hear what’s working for you, as well as what’s not. We’re glad you’ve felt the benefits of our flexible working, unlimited leave and all the little touches in our office environment – they’re designed to help people feel comfortable, trusted and supported. That said, some of the experiences you’ve described don’t reflect the kind of culture we’re proud to build at Virgin. We’re serious about creating an open, respectful and inclusive place to work – where people feel safe to speak up, and where good leadership is shown through action, not title. We never take feedback like this lightly, and we’d really welcome the chance to understand more. If you’re open to it, please do reach out confidentially at people.team@virgin.com. – The Virgin People Team

Pros

Used to be a great place to work, and could be once again, but leadership is non-existent

Cons

No strategy Total chaos Massively overworked Cronyism is the norm, senior leaders have brought in their mates who are incompetent, and they in turn push all of the workload down. All opportunities go to external candidates, big issues with the hiring policies as they are all useless. Then the business has the audacity to ask you to do the job you wanted, but told you could not do, because of incompetent hires. Burnout is rife with a never ending stream of people taking time out for work related stress. Everyone below director level is unhappy and looking at getting out. Find somewhere else, its not worth it! Record profits leads to rounds of redundancies despite mega high workloads, and continual below inflation pay increases, yet always asking for more and more

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. We’re really sorry to hear this is how things have felt – it doesn’t reflect the culture we’re proud of. At Virgin, we're proud of creating a supportive, inclusive and empowering environment – one where everyone can thrive, feel trusted, and be part of something bigger. If that’s not what you experienced, we'd love to understand why – and we genuinely welcome the chance to hear more. You can reach us in confidence at people.team@virgin.com. – The Virgin People Team

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts – we love to hear that our brand and the ideas brought to life by our brilliant people are landing well with you. We're all about our customers and innovation that breaks the mould. We know that when decision-making feels slow or layered, it can be frustrating – and that doesn’t quite match how we thrive or show up. One of the things we love about working here is that smaller teams often mean we can make a personal impact, quickly. If you're open to sharing more, we’d love to hear it – drop us a line at people.team@virgin.com. – The Virgin People Team
