Great people, but middle management and below are taken for a ride.

Pros

- Pretty much everyone at the brand is very nice to hang with. - Almost everyone you work with has a passion for the company and/or boardsports.

Cons

- A revolving door of interns who are never hired - Lack of room for advancement in any role. - Don't be surprised if the ball gets dropped on any project you have put weeks of work into and you never hear about it again. This is a constant and there are no processes to make sure staff are delivering on their roles. - There is a really bad expense culture. I guess this covers the non-existant pay increases. - No one ever gets a pay rise...but they do get more jobs thrown on them. - You are expected to feel lucky to be working for the brand and part of the "family". - ...but then, it is very cut throat in terms of lay-offs. Don't expect job security. It is a family until they say so.

Empty Promises

Pros

1) This company attracts very cool people who have high aspirations in their personal and professional lives. 2) All these awesome people really know their stuff, unfortunately there are some who are waaaaaay to busy to remember all the things they said they would do. Therefore the culture has become somewhat of an illusion.

Cons

1) Lack of company wide knowledge sharing/training. Everyone thinks they know how to use the ERP system, but not one person fully does. If you've never used their ERP system, they will look you in the eye and promise to help you use it. The reality is that you literally have to train yourself by asking everyone in the company as possible (it takes a few tries to get training meetings because they keep canceling, so expect a lot of rescheduling) and compile your own list of tips and tricks to help yourself run simple queries. 2) Overwhelmed management personnel are efficient in hiding their weaknesses... so, in meetings these yes men talk BIG "Oh yes we can do that," and "Oh yes, that is a great idea!" and "yes, we can have that to you by the end of the day". Then after the meeting those same "yes" people are unreachable. This "talking BIG" means that people who work under them (aka help them get their work done) cannot move forward with projects because management suddenly is MIA or too busy elsewhere.
