Pros

- Holistic approach to employee wellbeing - Fair, transparent culture - Everyone has an opportunity to have a voice and speak up if you want to - Employees really feel cared for - Genuinely try their best to hire folks from diverse backgrounds

Cons

- There is cons to working at Wealthsimple, but there is no con of working at Wealthsimple that is Wealthsimple's fault. They are subject to archaic financial systems in Canada. Things that are simple in the US or Europe are more complicated in Canada.

Pros

I've worked few if any other places that genuinely feel like they care about their employees as much as wealthsimple. They have remained steadfast in their dedication to transparency, and even at 5 years in the company still shares all information freely and remains a place where you can speak your mind. Not only do I feel cared for and listened to, the work is challenging and interesting and you get to work with some of the brightest people to get it done. Wealthsimple hires with an extremely fine filter - a certain pedigree of person is sought after here and they will never rush a hiring decision. The result is a group of very bright people who all take care of each other and lead otherwise interesting lives. Never a dull moment.

Cons

As others have mentioned, depending on your team your work life experience can wildly vary. I have worked on teams where it feels very low pressure and I have time to focus and manage my stress levels, and other teams where it's a late night grind every night for weeks at a time. The one caveat of that is that these bursts don't last long, and ultimately everything does return to equilibrium. It is however, unpredictable.
