Pros

Unlimited vacation days policy ?

Cons

- No proper HR, one of the owners acts as an HR personal while he has 0 qualification to do so and obviously presents a conflict of interest. - They are not upfront with their employees, they fire more than they hire and keep pretending the company is growing - They bad-mouth employees they fire/lay off within the same day of letting them go. - Some managers' only qualification to be managers is that they were there first... no management skills, no leadership skills - Negative feedback is not communicated with employees directly but rather escalated to HR ( that happens to be one of the owners) - They ask employees to do irrelevant tasks to their job description and judge performance based on it - If you can pretend that everyone else is a dummy ... you will fit right in ... just practice quoting other people with a dumb voice, it's an essential skill... Don't let the vacation day policy fool you, this company is not there yet and with the way they treat employees they will never be.

Our 3 core values are: 1. Constant Improvement 2. Doing what it takes 3. We are problem solvers As such, we will continue to improve HR as we do all aspects of the business. It’s unfortunate that there seems to have been mismatch here, we wish you nothing but success. Sincerely, David Perlis Founder and COO

A Disappointing Employment Experience

Pros

I enjoyed my co-workers a lot. There are some very smart and thoughtful people here who I loved working with. The flexibility to work 100% remotely from another province was nice. My manager also gave me lots of autonomy and trust, which was incredibly empowering and motivating.

Cons

The interview process was extremely long and drawn out, only for me to be completely surprised by a no-warning layoff just six months into the role. I was assured it was not performance-related, so it's very strange I was so quickly let go after so much time and effort was invested in getting me up to speed. It seemed like a very short-sighted and wasteful tactic to take, especially as my team was producing genuinely stellar results for the company. In the same vein, the leadership team talks a lot about teamwork and no ego, but they do not walk the talk. There is no long-term vision and priorities shift on a dime. -The turnover is crazy, even for the tech sector -The company often felt like a boy's club. There was rarely an intentional attempt to prioritize diversity and accessibility. The HR team does its best to promote team building and a robust workplace culture, but they have zero support from leadership to do so effectively.

Pros

Good people to work with, kinda feel sorry for them now. Laid off lots of people because they thought they had a strategy.

Cons

2 year employee growth rate. From 61 employees to 59 employees. 29 new hires. Do the math on that turnover and sales growth. Want to be selling a hot product, probably not here. Don't recommend this for a sales rep. Their job is asking for 12 enterprise leads a month, is that achievable? CEO was the sales manager, even if they hired a new sales manager. No idea what product market fit is. Blame reps for their own problems

Thanks for sharing your insight into your personal experience with ZIRO, and we appreciate the kind words about the team, we do have good people to work with here. Respectfully, the math on employee turnover is a bit off. There are many reasons employees leave companies, that said we have a headcount of 52 today that are happy to be a part of this team. Our new VP of Sales is working closely with the CEO to deliver on the new strategic sales outcomes. Again, thanks for taking the time to write a review. If you have actionable feedback, you would be willing to provide, kindly email hr@goziro.com. All the best!
