Pros

Working at zooplus has been an enriching experience marked by the warmth and understanding of its employees. The international working environment fosters motivation and encourages collaboration across borders. The diverse perspectives and cultures present within the company create a stimulating atmosphere, promoting growth and innovation. Additionally, the supportive nature of colleagues and management cultivates a sense of belonging and camaraderie, making it a truly enjoyable workplace.

Cons

One area where zooplus falls short is in the compensation package, which tends to be generally lower than industry standards. The fringe benefits offered are also quite inadequate, leaving employees feeling undervalued. Additionally, post-COVID, the transition back to office work has been implemented under the guise of a "hybrid" model, gradually increasing the in-office requirements year by year, which may not align with everyone's preferences or needs. Moreover, the discrepancy in office attendance, with some individuals coming in less frequently or not at all, has led to a sense of unfairness among employees, as it creates an uneven playing field. Furthermore, advancement opportunities within the company seem limited, with few avenues for career growth or promotion.

We are happy to hear about your positive feedback about our company's working environment, diversity, and culture. These elements are at the heart of zooplus, and we're dedicated to nurturing this unique atmosphere of togetherness. In line with this commitment, we've introduced a new hybrid work model aimed at enriching our company culture. By encouraging more in-person interactions, our objective is to build stronger connections and foster a sense of community through spontaneous meetings. This hybrid approach is a testament to our investment in direct communication while also offering the flexibility of 40% remote work to accommodate diverse needs. To make our office days even more enjoyable, we've introduced monthly breakfast gatherings and various local events. These initiatives are designed to enhance your office experience, ensuring that everyone can enjoy and find their ideal work arrangement. We're excited about these changes and believe they will further strengthen our bonds and enrich our working environment.

Pros

Some great people work at zooplus. Nothing else I can think of.

Cons

Slow-witted managers, ancient management methods (mainly excel), incapability to finish any projects , lacking common sense in their business strategy and bau, beware the brown-nosing culture.

A positive experience

Pros

-Many opportunities to learn a lot. -Company invests in having tools and data available for everyone. -You are given good equipment to work with, everyone has 2 monitors at their desk by default. -The two offices I visited look modern and well maintained, and pre-Covid there was free coffee/tea/other drinks and fruit. -Some degree of flexibility with working hours (start/ending times). -The company cares about the well-being of its employees. -CEO has been there from the beginning and has an excellent understanding of all aspects of the business and very clear ideas of what to do with the company. You might agree or disagree with him but cannot deny there is good leadership overall.

Cons

-The company has a lot of cash to burn and sometimes uses it in questionable ways during events/parties that make you question why that budget was not used to increase bonuses or base pay (this might have changed with Covid though). -The company likes flying people from one office to another for very little reason or for a meeting that could have happened over a video call (be prepared to travel, especially if you are applying to an office outside of Germany). -You are often invited and expected to be at meetings where the topics being discussed have nothing to do with you or your role.
