Pros

Good compensation, fully flexible WFH. There are some really smart & interesting people working here. HR team are great and do their best in challenging circumstances.

Cons

Fabriik thinks it's 'changing the world' but in reality it's doing nothing noticeably different than any of the other blockchain-based companies that already exist and have done for years. Fabriik is not a 'start up' in the true sense - it did not grow from the seed of an idea naturally, it grew from a pot of money into half a dozen different 'interconnected' businesses and it shows. Not to mention the close ties to a cryptocurrency with what could kindly be called a 'questionable' reputation (BSV - do your research on this before applying for any job here, and you can make your own mind up on whether it's a technology/coin worth backing). Nepotism in the company means certain senior employees are operating way above their ability level and it cripples effectiveness. So much politics with people getting fired etc. I worked with some great people, but there was always drama going on which meant the culture was pretty toxic. There's a culture of obsessively chasing the positives to the point where they pretend negatives don't exist, like management not acknowledging people leaving (voluntarily or otherwise...) as if not drawing attention to it means it didn't happen.

Pros

Mind bending tech that's changing the world. A group of purpose driven, collaborative, genuinely warm coworkers. There are lots of amazing opportunities to explore new ways of approaching challenges and a diverse group of people to help. They're incredibly supportive with working from home and work/life balance.

Cons

It's not so much a Fabriik problem, but something to be aware of in the blockchain industry. People have extremely passionate views on different protocols, not dissimilar to religious beliefs. The cornerstone of the tech is decentralised trust, but as with most things that inspire extreme enthusiasm, sometimes emotion can overshadow logic.

Pros

1. The Exit Interview 2. HR Team 3. CEO is a nice person

Cons

1. There is so much talking nothing actually gets done. 2. A Canadian company with no respect for a global teams time zones. 3. They will tell you to work your core hours but this translates to ‘work your core hours plus twenty more’ 4. I have never met a more toxic senior leadership team (excluding CEO) 5. The senior leadership team over promises and under-delivers. 6. Too much emphasis on the issues and not enough celebrations of wins. 7. Poor risk management processes 8. Hierarchy a resemblance of nepotism 9. Did not understand the product management strategy

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and concerns. I am sorry to hear that you experienced these issues and had these concerns. We take such feedback very seriously as we constantly aim to improve our internal processes. As we operate in a global and remote set-up, we do try our best to give our employees the flexibility to work within their core hours. At times, with the fast pace associated with a start-up environment, there are situations when employees work longer hours or outside their normal hours to accommodate different time zones. In these situations, we recognize these efforts and take steps to make sure colleagues maintain a work-life balance. We take pride in our leadership team for promoting open and regular channels of feedback so we can continuously improve our ways of working. We have also taken steps to recognize the value of every employee at Fabriik and celebrate our wins. As this is a journey of learning and growth, we hope to have the opportunity to connect with you again. We wish you the best in your future success!
