Pros

Amazing product line + clients love them (when they work) + In the right market segment with tremendous growth potential + CEO is a good person + lots of good new & talented people

Cons

Only software company that does not know how to stand up it's own software. All who know how to do it were let go or already left. Company is driven into the ground by the CEO and his old friends. All of them worked together in a different company and now there is no seat at the table for anyone else. Is this what they teach at Harvard? Exclude talent and experience AND build a group that will tell you what you want to hear? All new hires join and then leave quickly - no training, no ownership and no respect. No one owns anything + constant shuffling of departments and resources with no logic or empirical evidence on why it made sense. Is it a wonder that all the big clients left and there are no new clients! All positive posts encouraged by new HR + HR is a few months old and now really aware of the real concerns. Ultimate goal appears to build a shell of a good company with dysfunctional software and services and sell it to an unsuspecting VC or rival. This is common knowledge in the healthcare space companies.

Pros

Nice vending machines. That is about it.

Cons

I was employed a short time with this company. During this time I reported to a manager that seemed to take an immediate dislike to me and I couldn't figure out why. There were times as I was completing my daily tasks I would over hear this manager speaking negatively of me to other employees. That was my first taste of how unprofessional things were at this company. As my manager got increasingly hostile, I decided to confront her about the behavior. She told me that I was not "bubbly, like the last Administrative woman." I was pretty surprised by her response as I thought I was getting on well with everyone, but it seems she couldn't get over the fact that I was a different person. I don't think its fair that I was being compared to a past employee as I was new and still learning my role. The next day I received an email from a colleague I became close with. The email said the company website had posted my job online. I went on the company website and sure enough - the job posting was back up for everyone to see. They were looking to replace me while I was still working for them and did it with zero discretion. The next day I asked HR and my manager about the job posting. I was given a ridiculous answer about it being "procedure" to post the job again within an employees first 30 days. What? I had never heard anything like this before. I knew they were trying to replace me but keep me working while looking for my replacement. Things like this happen all the time but I think most companies would have enough respect for the employee to do it in a discrete manner. Well.. not Ika Systems! They didn't care about showing any respect or stripping me of my dignity. I didn't realize why so many employees were leaving and why so many seemed unhappy at first - after what happened to me, I can see why.
