Pros

- Interesting projects to work on. - A lot opportunity to learn and develop skills. - If you have an idea, you are free to voice it and it would be heard.

Cons

- Some of the management could be a little authoritarian. - Pay is not that good. - Feel like it is difficult to get a raise/get promoted.

Pros

(some) colleagues are nice, loyal people. they hang out often and there's parties often where you can share and have a good time with them.

Cons

internet access is not good, management is generally overpaid and they do not care about essential things like internet connection. favourite developers choose the best projects they want to work on. new inexperienced developers are very poorly paid. they do not care about people leaving the company. they do not care if workers grow (or don't)

Very sorry to hear about such a negative experience. Please come back and give us another chance. We now have better internet connections at our three offices in Ecuador. Two offices have two connections each, from different carriers; one office at Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral (ESPOL) has an awesome connection provided by the Department of Computer Science. We do want ioet to be a great "first job" which is why we hire a lot of students (interns) and yes, they are “new and inexperienced”. Usually they are working part time while pursuing their studies. We give them a chance to work with state of the art technologies they may not see in the classroom. Most of our interns cannot work full time in the critical path of an important project. We cannot pay them as much as full-time engineers with several years or more of experience. We are glad to hear that management is generally “overpaid”! Few would agree (we know our larger competitors pay more); but it would be nice if someday everyone was “overpaid”. As a matter of process and policy we try to measure skills accurately and pay everyone fairly. We do not have many “managers”. Our project teams are given responsibility and autonomy; they communicate directly with our customers. We have “project coordinators” who are very fluent in English; they help insure that our teams understand what the customer wants, but they do not have technical responsibility and they are not the highest paid people; and not every project has a project coordinator. Some of our most important projects are run entirely by the engineers doing the work. At ioet this is what it means to have “real leaders lead the teams”. Sure, some of these “leaders” are inexperienced at leadership and are learning on the job and make mistakes. We are building ioet by giving everyone a chance to learn. The highest paid people at ioet are Ecuadorian engineers with many years of experience; there is only one “expat” in the top ten highest paid people. 23% of our engineers are women, and of those people who could be considered “managers” more than 50% are women. ioet is not perfect, but it is unique; and everyone who works here is having fun trying to make it great.

Pros

- Flexibility - Career Opportunities - Friendly people - Work with clients from USA

Cons

- Low salary - No legal benefits - No health insurance - Old equipment - When you apply for a career review your salary can increase 300 - 500 $, this increase is very low, Ioet is a company from USA, the increase should be higher. - they do not give away the equipment like other companies for working with them for 2 years. - No severance pay if you are fired. - No clear work policies. - The goal of the company is to keep for two years the developers as junior/middle.
