I have been working at npower full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some managers appreciate talent but some don't have vision and just follow the conversative status quo. Recruitment process needs some reviewing. Not everyone who can lie in an interview is a good worker, it actually helps when they can well in the role. Think of ways to see through this. I suggest looking at the CV and really seeing what this person has achieved instead of fully relying on 1 40 minute interview.

    Cons

Resourcing process is lacking. Unless you wait 4 years for a decent manager to step up when you work hard to progress the only way is to improve how you're presentation skills. If you can take credit well for someone else's work for 40 mins you have a job.

    Advice to Management

Don't recruit on just the 40 minute interview. And use the FTC process as a probation instead of a way to control the hard workers. It's not all about presentation skills in roles that require no presenting.

I have been working at npower full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There is a genuine agile/flexible working policy - as long as you do the hours, deliver the work and are available for meetings in core hours when needed, you can work where and how you want.

    Cons

Pay is lower than comparable companies and the promotion opportunities can be limited if you are not prepared (or able) to move roles (no grade/level changes based on experience)

    Advice to Management

Recognise the good talent and stop them leaving by offering promotions within a role

I have been working at npower part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Working with great people, great benefits best place i have worked, learned so much

    Cons

Introduced agile but unable to work agile due to poor management as not treating everyone equal they pick and choose who can and can't work agile due to favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Poor managements and dated styles of working

I have been working at npower full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great facilities, Good Pensions, Safe Working Environment

    Cons

Poor Company Wide Communication, poor career development opportunities

    Advice to Management

Recruitment needs an overhaul. It doesn't get the right people in the right positions. The company claims it needs to save money, removing paper towels from toilets, limiting printing paper then they waste thousands on needless incentives like getting Blue to sing in their foyer or sponsoring the Commonwealth Games.

I have been working at npower full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good salary, pension, nice people, Good work/life balance, company support local community

    Cons

Hippocratic, Discriminating, Unprofessional, its always who you know not what you know, Hard work goes unrecognised, not able to retain experienced staff

    Advice to Management

In desperate need of new management. Need people who can make logical decision based on performance rather then following the suite of other companies.
Constant observation of employee being bullied to the verge of depression and even to leave the company. No proper process to raise voice against discrimination as management only listen to certain people all the time.
