They either don't want to face it, or simply lack of determination to change the situation. That why a bunch of useless people were kept around and given key responsibilities.
When you are approached, don't be carried away by their fancy titles. Mostly likely they will paint you a great picture without telling you exactly what you will be doing, because most of fancy titles manage nobody but themselves and don't know what they are doing half of the time. Funny thing is the management just let that happen.
Expect nothing but chaos. Everyone in this company cares nothing but sales. On a daily bases, expect to work around the clock, including weekends and nights. Don’t expect appreciations from these guys, because they make empty promises all the time.
It's understandable that companies are trying to save money, but you cannot find a company as cheap as this one. Make sure you know the benefit details, because the health care plans they provide is the worse you can ever get. There is no dental, vision, life insurances or anything else. Bottom line is that consider the work loads, you are making very little. Also, regardless of technical, equipment, or even general inquires, you will be lucky to get any.
Fair point is that they are a small startup with no culture but full of cheap attitudes and short visions.
If your job search hasn't been too desperate, I suggest you turn around and walk away.
