Don't waste your time

Pros

Good office location in Boston. Flexible work/life balance and opportunities to work from home.

Cons

This place is run by a good old boys club made up of a bunch of nerds that have managed to see a little bit of success in their supply chain careers and love to tell you about it whenever possible. The culture borders on inappropriate with constant comments being made by upper level management and a general creepiness that is felt by all female employees. Not to mention "Risky", the riskmethods mascot that is a female employee dressed in tight spandex and a helmet. There is no professional development opportunities within the company and very little chance to move up to new or higher positions. Orders come down from the German side of the house and North America is left without support or autonomy to make their own decisions. Despite claims and recruiting tactics, this isn't a "tech" company and will not offer the culture that you're looking for with that label. While SaaS based, the product itself does little more than map out lines on a GoogleMap and show you information that you could find yourself by watching the news.

Pros

Really try to be a 'cool' company. Nice perks such a gym membership and office. HR dept has a really good manager and knows his stuff. Owners and some first hires are super motivated and go-getters.

Cons

The product is a glorified Google maps with some lines. Very unclear UI and not appealing for the customer or for sales to sell. For new sales hires, this company is a nightmare. Pure cold call without real value or compelling event then 'let's book a demo'. Although they try, it is an unbelievable in this stage (100+ employees ) they have not thought on how to build a go market strategy. When you address this, it is like they just ignore you or have no clue what to do. Onboarding is not existent or is very weak: here is a laptop and some corporate slides and have fun doing cold calls.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful feedback. Welcoming new employees to our company is extremely important to us and we have done and will continue to do more to improve the onboarding process. Initiatives like the implementation of the learning portal Skillsoft, the riskmethods Sales Academy, and Deal Clinics are just the beginning of what we hope will be a first-class onboarding experience! We care deeply about our product and GoToMarket strategy. While our customer retention and satisfaction rates are extremely high and we have received numerous awards, we of course seek to always improve. Feedback like yours and from our current employees is critical to our progress as a company. We have and will continue to encourage our team to suggest ways for us to get better!

Location is probably the only good thing besides coworkers.

Cons

No transparency, no guidance, no training. They let people go without warning which makes us all very uncomfortable.

Dear riskbuster, Thank you for sharing your feedback! Even though it’s not as positive as we hope, this input is valued and we will learn from it. A couple of things I can say already is that we’re always working to improve training and guidance, not just for new employees, but for everyone. The addition of personalized 30-60-90 day onboarding plans should go a long way to help new riskbusters get off to a great start. We hope to continue to offer development opportunities to our tenured staff as well to ensure we’re providing a culture that fosters growth. We heard you loud and clear about transparency, and hope that the all hands meeting held this week helped you understand some of the intricacies of our company’s current state! If more questions linger, please contact any member of management and we will help you out. And to your last point, it’s always unfortunate when we must part ways with an employee. What I can say is that anyone who is no longer with us was offered opportunities to improve and grow to meet the objectives agreed upon in their role. Throughout the whole process, we strive to ensure we have have clear communication and offer support where needed.
