If it seems too good to be true, it probably is

Pros

Most of the people were nice There's some good benefits/employee perks The pay is good, but it has to be to make up for the stressful environment

Cons

I without a doubt have never been so upset about the prospect of facing another day at work as I was here - there was nothing fulfilling about the job The culture they proudly tout is all talk - many employees follow it but some of management don't feel the need to The work is a free for all without proper leadership The product can't keep up with competitors which causes a lot of prioritisation changes to try to stay relevant Bullying from some members of the management team They say they are flexible with working hours but expect you to be available to respond to messages immediately between 9 and 5

Pros

It's like working with a bunch of good friends where everyone is completely aligned on the same goals. Humility is seen as a strength and something that helps myself (and others) learn and develop. It's a nurturing culture, with a great team. Our customer demographic is also a really rewarding segment as the design industry is a passionate one that's always open to giving useful feedback and sharing their love for features we build... which hits way better when it's a feature you worked on. The company as a whole is very transparent, and there's a strong focus on mental health going above and beyond to make sure everyone is in a good headspace to be productive.

Cons

Genuinely can't think of any cons. The company is so reactive to any feedback of qualms that nothing (yet) has had the time to become a problem.

Pros

*Biggest one for me is that they put people first *Amazing team, everyone has time for each other no matter how senior or junior, if anyone needs help, there's always someone there *The founders care about work/ life balance *Everyone is so friendly! *No blame culture, let's collaborate, solve the problem and move on mentality *Team lunches, events, and meetups in person where possible (but no pressure to attend these if you're not comfortable with the current COVID situation) *Loads of flexible benefits, especially for a small company *High trust culture

Cons

Hard to think of any. Would prefer if we were fully remote, but understand that the social aspect is important for the team too. When the London office officially opens, we'll be required to go into the office once a week so it's not that bad.

Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to post your review. I hear your comment about being fully remote and we know that there's many benefits of remote work. We believe that zeroheight will be a more fun and innovative company if we can get teams to collaborate in person but we're flexible and there is no need to be in the office every day.
