The Big Plan is all about co-production and represents Achieve together’s vision for how teams and the people supported by us work together. Who created the Big Plan? The Big Plan was created by Unity and Campaign 4 Change, who are a co-production group and a self-advocacy group formed by people supported in Achieve together. Unity work with different teams and departments at Achieve together to co-produce projects and initiatives. Campaign 4 Change champions the rights of people with learning disabilities and autistic people nationally.
🌟 Honouring the legacy of Samir El-Ziftawy 🌟 We’re incredibly proud to share that Samir El-Ziftawy, a much-loved and truly inspirational member of the Achieve together and Campaign 4 Change communities, has been posthumously awarded The People’s Award at the National Learning Disability and Autism Awards 2025. 💬 The judges described Samir as: “A presence that spoke volumes—a radiant force of positivity, resilience, and determination… Samir championed the voices of those often unheard, ensuring individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) were seen, respected, and empowered.” This rare and powerful recognition celebrates the incredible impact Samir made through his advocacy, co-production work, and tireless campaigning for disability inclusion and visibility. 🏆 The award was accepted on Samir’s behalf by Laurie Finn, who shared: “He inspired me—and everyone around him—with his tenacity, zest for life, and drive for change.” 🗣 Michael Fullerton, Director of Wellbeing, Strategy and Collaboration, reflected: “It’s rare for someone with lived experience—especially someone with PMLD—to be honoured like this. Samir believed everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and valued. His legacy calls on all of us to continue that work.” 🙏 Samir showed us that true leadership comes from lived experience. His spirit lives on in the movement he helped shape—and in every step we take toward a more inclusive world.
