Hayes Village is a thriving new community in West London, built on the site of a former Nestlé factory, with high quality new homes and excellent transport links to central London and beyond. The sensitive restoration by Barratt London of a landmark building at the heart of the site, with an iconic Art Deco style entrance, creates a fantastic sense of place. Existing mature trees and open space have been retained, with over 7 acres of green space and access restored to the nearby canal for the community to enjoy - all enhanced by public art that draws on the legacy of the site. 🌳🏡 #BarrattRedrow #GreatPlaces

To mark National Play Day, we launched a new inclusive play design standard. We have worked together with our long term partner Whizz Kidz to create the standard, which will act as a guide for designing inclusive and accessible play areas that meet the needs of all children, including those with physical disabilities or neurodivergent conditions. We hope to have 125 of these new, inclusive play areas installed at our new developments by the end of next year, and over the next few years all our new play areas will meet this standard. Play areas provide an essential space for physical and social development in young people. This is why we are committed to designing and creating play spaces that are inclusive and accessible for all children to enjoy to the full.
We are proud to share that our school outreach initiative, delivered in partnership with The School Outreach Company, has been shortlisted for the Personnel Today ‘Innovation in Recruitment Award’. Research underscores an alarming lack of resource and support for students of all levels, creating a barrier for new talent to enter our sector and meet business needs. Launched in 2021, our school outreach programme is dedicated to addressing the skills shortages in the housebuilding industry by providing students with clear insight, guidance and careers information to inspire and support a career into housebuilding. We virtually engage with over 1,200 secondary schools and colleges across the UK and have delivered over 80 in-person sessions with student groups since April 2023. Congratulations to all the other finalists – eagerly await the awards announcement in November! #PersonnelTodayAwards2024 #SchoolOutreach #InnovationInRecruitment
The Barratt Foundation has donated more than £12m to more than 1,000 local and national charities since it launched in 2021. The Foundation has strong partnerships with national charities including Whizz Kidz, Place2Be, The Outward Bound Trust, Bookmark Reading Charity and Magic Breakfast, all of whom positively impact the lives of children, young people and those most disadvantaged in the communities where we work. And we continue to support local charities right across the country through the Barratt and David Wilson Community Fund, as well as boosting employee and divisional fundraising efforts for causes that matter most to them. Andy Button-Stephens, Head of the Barratt Foundation, said: "It has been fantastic to see how the Foundation has grown over the years and together with the amazing fundraising work achieved by the Barratt divisions and its employees, the Foundation will continue to be a force for good, helping people and communities right across the country."
We are so proud that 89 of our site managers have won an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award – making it the 20th year in a row that our teams have won more of these prestigious awards than any other housebuilder. The awards – known as the Oscars of the industry – recognise those site managers, along with their teams, contractors and partners, who build the highest quality homes and run the neatest, safest and best sites across the country. Congratulations to all of our winners! #NHBCPIJ
We are celebrating 10 years of an award-winning partnership with the RSPB. We have achieved so much together, from creating a flagship nature-friendly development at Kingsbrook near Aylesbury, to installing thousands of swift bricks, bat boxes and hedgehog highways up and down the country. See how we’ve been working with the RSPB to give nature a home on our developments over the last decade.
