International secondees share their experience In January 2023 , we welcomed our first international secondees from Bentley’s, Brisbane. Two managers joined our Audit team for a three-month period as part of an annual secondment programme between our two audit practices. In return in July 2023 three members of Blick Rothenberg’s Audit team were seconded to Bentley’s for three months. “It was a great opportunity to get outside of my comfort zone and push my boundaries.” - Shiv Shukla Shiv Shukla and Matthew Beale talk about their experience during their three-month secondment with Bentley’s in Brisbane.

Blick Rothenberg - The return of the Blick Rothenberg Charity Shield After a Covid hiatus, 2023 saw the welcome return of the Blick Rothenberg 5-a-side football Charity Shield tournament. Held at Powerleague Battersea, the venue provided an unforgettable experience for players and spectators alike. Importantly it also raised money in aid of London’s Air Ambulance’s ‘Just in Time’ appeal which aims to raise the money required to urgently replace their helicopter fleet in 2024. The matches were held between several professional services firms and Blick Rothenberg colleagues. There were 8 teams in two leagues competing for the Charity Shield Cup and Plate. After a series of knockout games The Blick Rothenberg team won the trophy and Cazenove Capital the Plate. Our China Desk is 5 years old 🎂 曹锦玥 Winnie Jinyue Cao joined Blick Rothenberg in November 2018 to set up our China Business Group. In that time the team has grown to service an increasing number of clients and we’ve supported a number of British-Chinese initiative such as the Chinese-British exhibition at the The British Library and the Global SinoPhoto Awards. We’ve also registered formal trademarks in China for our name and its corresponding translation, 必臻, pronounced bi-zhen. Winnie says: “It has given me great satisfaction throughout my career to help people and businesses from the Asia Pacific region to establish and invest in the UK.” Our services have been developed to cater for the needs of companies taking their first steps in the UK and range from entity set-up through to managing the whole accounting and administration back office function. Blick Rothenberg Careers – Myth Busters with Stefanie Tremain Aisha Weise-Forbes from our recruitment team is on a mission to talk to people around our business to challenge myths and assumptions for people considering a career in Accountancy and Professional services or even at Blick Rothenberg. Aisha sat down with Stefanie Tremain, a Partner in our Private Client Tax team, to help bust the myth that you have to be good at maths to get into accounting. Given that Finance is the world of numbers, it seems logical to assume numbers will have to be your strength. Stefanie isn’t my only guest who has mentioned that this is in fact not the most important piece of the job. Yes, a proficiency is ideal and helpful but Stefanie talks about what is more important when considering a role in accountancy.
