Learning at Work week was last week. Today, we take a look at how we invest in our people and the training we provide. Last year we delivered over 700 hours of training to our team and so far in 2024 have had colleagues participate in Leadership Development Training, Mental Health training, and our apprentices continue their learning with the support of the business.
There's nothing like a good cuppa and so we supported National Tea Day with our colleagues. To encourage conversations between our colleagues when they're enjoying a break, we suppled biscuits so that everyone can enjoy a treat with their hot drink. We also reminded colleagues of the support we have in place if they need to chat to a professional.
We are very pleased to announce that our fantastic, brand new, purpose built production facility at Eurocentral, Scotland is now open! Thanks to our amazing team for making this possible! š
We have a comprehensive range of resources and support in place as part of our Wellbeing Commitment from the Printing Charity's free, confidential helpline to Liggy Webb's wellbeing books. Head of HR, Judith Chadwick said: "We are keen to provide a range of wellbeing resources to our colleagues to give them choice."
Did you know that we have five corrugators in three locations, placing us as one of the leading manufacturers of corrugated board in the UK?
Intrinsically woven into the business since the relaunch in the summer of 2023, are our company values. The BOARD values will undoubtedly shape 2024.
Beyond the Box, part of the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) represents the community aspect of corrugated; educating consumers as to the importance of corrugated as a preferred packaging material, how to recycle it, and why it supports the circular economy. Click the picture to view their latest blogs which highlight the āoverpackagingā debate and shows how versatile corrugated is, often avoiding this very issue.
Behind the scenes at our Coalville site we've been upgrading the facilities where our team take a break and prepare food and drink as part of a site wide refurbishment programme. Thanks to all the team for their patience - we're nearly there!
We supported International Men's Day which takes place on 19th November every year. Launched in 1999 and celebrated in more than 90 countries worldwide, it's a wonderful initiative to highlight men's health. We've provided our colleagues with lots of information and resources to encourage everyone to take good care of their mental and physical wellbeing.
Charity begins Where Corrugated is Made! Our Coalville site will be donating toys to Marlene Reid Centre in Coalville. This was suggested by a wellbeing group member to ensure donations were kept in the heart of the community where they work. The Marlene Reid Centre supports local families each Christmas with its Toy Appeal to collect brand new books, games, toys and gifts for local children, receiving support at the centre, who may not otherwise receive presents at Christmas. Our Larkhall colleagues will donating to St Ninianās Food Bank, Larkhall, for the vulnerable and less fortunate. Donations can include tinned dinners, stewing steak, minced beef, curry, chilli, hot dogs, meatballs, and tinned vegetables which can be accessed by those struggling to pay for food. And finally, our Preston colleagues are supporting Cash for Kids Mission Christmas, Lancashire, which helps to distribute Christmas gifts to children who may not otherwise receive a present. Once again, the charity asks that donations are unwrapped, brand new and can include selection boxes, sweets, board games, books, and toys.
