This National Wellness Month we're giving a nod to our Cera Women network and the menopause support it provides. We're proud to employ a workforce that is 80% female, and as part of our commitment to being a menopause-and-menstruation-friendly employer, our network provides resources and regular opportunities for women and allies to connect and learn about the peri-menopause and menopause. Here's some of our colleagues discussing the impact of the support provided...
As Good Care Month has come to a close, we want to pause and say thank you. 💙 🏡 Across thousands of home visits every day, Cera’s care teams bring connection, stability and dignity to the people they support. From small moments of reassurance to life-changing interventions, their work often goes unseen – but its impact is immeasurable. To every carer, nurse and support worker at Cera and across the UK: thank you for showing up with compassion, skill and care. Every day, you empower people to live longer, better lives in their own homes.
Cera has been recognised as one of the Top 100 AI Tech Companies of 2025 by the World Future Awards – following our Number 1 ranking in the HealthTech 50! 🙌 It’s great to see our work highlighted – but what matters most is the impact we’re making, using AI and technology to support carers and nurses in delivering safer, more preventative care at home. 📈 As we continue driving change across the sector, we’ll keep focusing on what matters: building a more preventative, sustainable model of care that helps people live healthier, more independent lives.
We’re delighted to share that Cera has been ranked the UK’s Number 1 HealthTech Company in the HealthTech 50! 🌟 A huge thank you to our teams across the UK who made this possible - and to the carers and nurses who use our technology each day to support people to live healthier, safer, more independent lives at home. At Cera we believe in a future where care is preventative, personalised, and powered by technology. By combining compassionate care with data and AI, we are: - Supporting healthier lives at home - Spotting health risks before they escalate - Preventing unnecessary hospital admissions Thank you to the communities, clients, and families who have joined us on our journey to transform care. 💙
What does it take to build a company that lasts – and scales across borders? Recently at the Founders Forum Group – our Founder & CEO Dr. Ben Maruthappu joined founders from India, the US and Singapore to discuss Entrepreneurship on the Global Stage, as part of London Tech Week. From leadership and workforce strategy to innovation and impact, the conversation spanned what it takes to build great companies around the world – and the role of mission-driven tech in tackling global challenges like health workforce shortages.
As the NHS celebrates its 77th birthday, the Health & Social Care Committee recently highlighted that delayed discharges are draining the NHS, and social care must be part of the solution. - No national estimate of what delays are costing. - Hospital beds filled with patients who are medically fit to leave. - NHS reform held back because care services can’t keep up. At Cera, we’ve seen what’s possible if that trend is reversed. - Our care model helps treat patients at home – not in hospital. - We intervene earlier, reducing the need for emergency care. - We’re easing the pressure on overstretched NHS staff and services, and freeing up hospital beds. We support people across the UK every day to live independently at home – and we do it using smart technology, predictive data, and a team of dedicated, compassionate care professionals. This is prevention in action. It’s time for investment and innovation in social care – because when care works, the NHS works.
Thrilled to share that Cera has recently won a Newsweek AI Impact Award! We were awarded “Best Outcomes – Patient Care” in the AI Healthcare category for our entry: “Revolutionising Home Healthcare Through AI, for Patients and Society"" This award reflects the impact our AI-enabled model is having every day – helping people stay healthy and safe at home, reducing hospitalisations, and giving carers and nurses more time with those they support. It’s a testament to the power of prevention, the potential of AI, and the dedication of our teams across the UK – from engineers and scientists to the thousands of carers using our tools every day to deliver faster, safer, more personal care.
Our CEO & Founder Dr. Ben Maruthappu recently appeared on the 40 Minute Mentor podcast to share how his personal experiences as an NHS doctor led him to found Cera – and how we are working to transform care at home through technology. In the episode, Ben reflects on Cera's early days, the challenges of scaling in a complex system, and the lessons learned in building a team, developing AI-led tools, and supporting care staff across the UK and beyond. Today, we’re using AI to identify and predict health risks before they escalate – reducing avoidable hospital admissions and supporting people to stay healthier at home.
It was an honour to be invited to a 10 Downing Street Garden Party last week in celebration of London Tech Week, exploring this year’s theme of ‘Tech in the Age of AI’. We were thrilled to be part of a brilliant showcase by our partners at Faculty, shining a light on the tech projects that are impacting and transforming people’s lives, particularly in sectors like health and social care. Representing the frontline of care, Kenza Maduro shared how our Cera App helps her make a difference as a carer – preventing falls and health risks, reducing hospitalisations, and improving quality of life for the older and vulnerable people she cares for. Our Founder & CEO Dr. Ben Maruthappu also joined the event to highlight how technology can help solve some of the toughest challenges facing health and social care. Thanks to the team at Faculty for showcasing Cera’s impact – and for keeping people’s health, wellbeing and independence at the heart of tech.
Great to see our Founder Dr. Ben Maruthappu quoted in this recent article from Forbes, about the tech revolution driving change across social care. From AI companions to predictive tools – technology will only improve, not lessen the humanity of this important sector.
