The Delta Academies Charitable Trust Charity Ball, held on Saturday March 16th, at the Queens Hotel in Leeds, was a resounding success. The elegant evening raised over £10,900, an astounding amount which will provide many grants to deserving students across the Trust. Guests enjoyed a three-course meal, lively entertainment from a talented band, and a night filled with fun and games. Attendees participated in a round of bingo with wine prizes, a “cash bonanza”, and a raffle packed with incredible offerings such as Smart TVs, electronic goods, and luxury hampers. The star prize, a weekend getaway to London with theatre tickets, left one lucky winner ecstatic. The dance floor was buzzing all night long as attendees socialised and celebrated until the early hours. The atmosphere was electric, fuelled by a shared passion for supporting student dreams. “This incredible evening was a testament to the power of community and generosity. Seeing everyone come together to support our students was truly heartwarming. The funds raised will make a real difference in the lives of many, allowing them to pursue their dreams and reach their full potential without financial limitations. We are incredibly grateful to all our sponsors and attendees who made this night such a success!” David Pitchfork, Director, Delta Academies Charitable Trust
It’s no secret that teachers have the power to shape lives and make a lasting impact. Paul Tarn, our CEO, is just one example of the wide-reaching and inspiring influence that educators can have. Hear an inspiring story from an ex-student whose life was changed by Paul’s teaching - and be reminded of the unique power of a great teacher.
Hear what our colleagues say: I would, without reservation, encourage colleagues to consider career opportunities within Delta Academies Trust but I suggest that the essential ingredients you need to bring are enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism. – Kirsty Holt, Vice Principal
Children across Delta’s 53 academies are experiencing life enhancing residential visits to Delta’s Environmental and Outdoor Education centre, in the heart of Nidderdale. Originally built in 1640, Dallowgill School was a National Society of the Church of England School. Ownership was officially passed to Delta in June 2019. Extensive refurbishment and extension to the site has created an outdoor education centre which is available to be booked by all Delta schools, supporting enrichment across the curriculum, giving students access to nature and learning important life skills. Teachers can plan weekend and overnight visits so students can learn how to cook basic meals, keep areas clean, share an appreciation for nature and create memorable experiences. Woodland surrounds the centre, with children able to view resident wildlife on their doorstep. To be immersed in nature is very different to usual school surroundings and provides a peaceful environment to explore. Schools can plan nature walks, make the most of woodland activities such as den building, and gather around a campfire.
