Congratulations to apprentices Ben Urwin and Jenna Worthington, who were both honoured at the North East Apprenticeship Awards! Ben was named Professional Services Apprentice of the Year, while Jenna was shortlisted as a finalist in the Higher Apprenticeship of the Year category. The annual awards recognise the outstanding work of apprentices across the north east and celebrate the region’s apprenticeship network. Well done to Ben and Jenna!
Did you know, we are a Disability Confident Leader? Last week we attended the DWP Disability Confident conference alongside colleagues from DurhamEnable and the council's Equality and Diversity team. Mary Gallagher, Equality and Diversity Team Leader, talked about the ways we support our disabled colleagues and how we recruit and retain a diverse workforce. Thank you to Ramsay Taylor for sharing the great work the DurhamEnable team do to support job seekers and employers break down the barriers to employment, and thank you to Megan Welton for sharing her experiences of neurodiversity and work. A great morning networking with other employers in County Durham and sharing ideas and best practice!
