We are pleased to announce the opening of our new design center in Timisoara, Romania, at the Vox Technology Park. The state-of-the-art facility serves as a design and engineering hub for our #automotive and #healthcare customers worldwide. With 1500m2 of office and laboratory space and a team of skilled engineers, designers, and developers, we are able to partner with customers to get ideas from prototype to product faster and with less risk.
By fostering open communication and embracing change, we empower our teams to excel across diverse industries, including #automotive. Christian Klaere, senior director in business development, automotive, focused on learning and development to help build his technical skillset and thrive with a collaborative global team in our automotive group. Christian has 27 years of experience at Flex, starting as an apprentice and moving into automotive design and manufacturing. Now, he's at the forefront of today’s rapidly evolving auto industry and understands what’s required to achieve the promise of next gen mobility. EFQM, globally recognized for driving organizational improvement, has given Flex Althofen, Austria, a seven-star rating for organizational excellence, making Flex one of only 13 companies in Europe to receive EFQM's highest recognition. Flex Althofen earned this for their continuous improvement of quality, innovation, and reliability to meet the advanced manufacturing needs of customers in highly regulated industries.
Laura Vacarescu, technical support manager in Timisoara, Romania, has led many design and engineering projects throughout her time at Flex to help evolve processes for better efficiency and higher quality. Laura was one of the first certified operators at the Timisoara site to work with optical fibers and has continued to develop her skillsets ever since. Most recently, she's grown in her role to take her extensive engineering skillset to a global level, supporting sites around the world and learning new technologies along the way. We nurture a work environment of continuous improvement to help team members acquire new skills, knowledge, and experiences.
