Our people are at the heart of what we do and touch every aspect of our sustainability strategy and initiatives. In 2021, our team members came together and helped us take steps toward our most ambitious targets, spanning health and safety, diversity, equity and inclusion, employee development and more. Together, we decreased total safety incident rate by 17%, ensured 100% of employees had access to emotional/mental health programs and provided an average of 27 hours of training and development for employees. Suited up in their well-worn running shoes and brand-new Flex jerseys, 320 Flex India employees challenged themselves to a 5km marathon race under the balmy late afternoon August sun. Equipping our employees with optimal health support, the afternoon began with a 1-hr Zumba warming up session. Moreover, ensuring sufficient hydration, our participants were given refreshments, water bottles, and tetra packs each 500m interval. At the end of the race, the top 3 winners were awarded with medals whilst all participants were rewarded with certificates of completion.

Collaborating with Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP), our P5 Green Club from Flex Penang (P5) recently launched an Eco-School Sustainability Program, inviting students from SMK Convent Butterworth to our facility. Through the program, they learned about the methods and advantages of growing plants hydroponically. To further encourage #sustainability practices, Flex also provided the school with a hydroponic DIY kit so they could set up their own hydroponic system.
In honor of India’s 75th Independence Day, a number of exciting activities were organized by Flex sites across India. A tribute and celebration to the spirit of unity and patriotism. From a dazzling fashion show that revealed our employees’ hidden modeling talent, thrilling dance and music performances that tested their stamina and singing capabilities, creative decorations that painted their offices in a series of tricolors, quizzes and debate competitions that brought out intense competitiveness to a flag hoisting activity that exemplified unity, our employees commemorated the memorable day with flourish.

Building great products for our customers that improve lives calls for a commitment to sustainability backed by action and innovation. Out of our 100+ sites making #sustainability a key focus, we highlight 3 sites whose impactful initiatives are contributing to a more sustainable future. Our Austin, Texas team’s conservation efforts have resulted in decreased water consumption. In Penang, Malaysia, team members helped protect wildlife in their local communities. Our Manorhamilton, Ireland team created and implemented a new process to recycle thermofil plastic. This is just a glimpse into the amazing efforts of our Flex teams globally to show their commitment to building a cleaner, healthier world.
