Yesterday, we hosted an event to recognise our exceptional apprentices' outstanding achievements and hard work! During the event, we had the privilege of welcoming an inspirational speaker, Jason Anker MBE, who faced life-altering injuries after a decision he made on a construction site at the age of 24. Jason shared the profound impact that choice had on his life, family, friends, and his mental well-being with our cohort of apprentices. Jason, as an advocate for the 'No Falls Charity,' passionately narrated his experience of a fall from a height incident in 1993 that left him wheelchair-bound. He expressed: “Through my story, I aim to inspire ‘Early Talent’ coming into the industry to make the right choices around Wellbeing and Health & Safety in construction. I would also like to thank Sharon Jarvis for inviting me along to the Gleeson Apprentice Awards Ceremony to share my story and inspire the future generation”. This week coincides with No Falls Week and Mental Health Week, providing the perfect opportunity for Jason to share his story of resilience and advocacy. #NoFallsWeek #MentalHealthWeek #Apprentices #GleesonHomes
