We had a great session today with Jonathan Austin, CEO of Best Companies sharing our latest colleague survey results. We are thrilled with our 2-star rating but more importantly have lots more exciting plans for our colleagues.
We are thrilled to welcome ‘Liver Buddies’ from Leeds NHS Trust to Comfort House today promoting good liver health and completing liver health checks (through fibro scanning which is a type of ultrasound). It’s great to work for a company that promotes physical wellbeing and puts colleagues at the heart of everything we do.
We are thrilled to announce the opening of our 55th showroom in Sollihull. We would like to officially welcome Jake and the team to the HSL family. We can’t wait to watch our Solihull retail family flourish and we’re excited to see the results!
Another successful colleague lunch on us! Our departments all across the country enjoyed a delicious meal together. At HSL we value camaraderie and recognize the importance of shared moments like these.
Our partnership with British Heart Foundation is going from strength to strength, so we invited Mike Taylor, Commercial Director to attend Gather to share firsthand what our partnership means to them. Since March 2015, our partnership with the British Heart Foundation has had a significant impact on reducing HSL ‘s carbon footprint whilst raising vital funds for BHF ‘s research. Through HSL’s donations, the BHF have been able to re-sell and re-use 362 tonnes of furniture (put that into perspective that would equate to the weight of 52 African elephants.)
We are proud to be supporting Andy’s Man Club who do fabulous work with men’s mental health. Our colleagues’ wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do in HSL. We are fortunate to have Rob who works in our IT department. Rob gives his time freely to run an Andy’s Man Club group in Barnsley on Mondays at 7pm. #ITSOKAYTOTALK

Ben Waters, Operations Director has been recognised as one of the 60 most talented young people in the furniture and furnishings industry. Ben is one of the winners of a prestigious UK-wide competition which celebrates the talents of 60 outstanding young people working in the furniture and furnishing industry. Launched as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry, Ben was named in the ‘60for60’campaign which recognises 60 of the most accomplished and promising young people across the UK working in the furniture and furnishing industry. From product designers, cabinetmakers and technical developers to logistics professionals, commercial managers and operations directors, the awards showcase a diverse range of career opportunities within the sector.
