HSG CHARITY – A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our non-stop cycle challenge last week and an even bigger thank you to all of those who sponsored. We cycled non-stop for 49 hours and totalled a distance of 1,550km…that’s the same distance from London to Rome! We are very pleased to announce that we managed to raise £1,347.23! This year we are supporting a fantastic charity. The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today. Did you know every twenty minutes a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease by the age of 16! There is no cure for this disease which is for many, debilitating and life limiting. This was our first charity event of 2018 with more already being organised. Please stand with us and fight Mitochondrial Disease and fight for hope.

We’re pleased to announce that this year for 2018 HSG’s chosen charity is THE LILY FOUNDATION. It is the UK's leading charity dedicated to fighting mitochondrial disease. Their mission is to support people whose lives are affected by the condition, raise awareness and fund research into its prevention, diagnosis and treatment. 10 million people in the UK suffer from diseases in which mitochondrial dysfunction is believed to be involved, and every day in the UK a baby is born that will develop mitochondrial disease. The Lily Foundation is fighting to change this, with their ultimate aim being to one day find a cure. Over the course of the next 11 months we will be organising and taking part in various fund raising opportunities to try our hardest to raise awareness and funds for this great charity!
