Earlier this week thanks to Diane Morris at Chenavari, as our host venue, Zofia Sharman - All About Relationship, our wellbeing ambassador held another one of our HR Wellbeing Breakfasts – the sector this time was Hedge Funds. The group discussion was extremely positive with the sentiment massively pro the need to support staff with effective wellbeing plans. Particular common ground lay around the ever increasing importance of mental health, menopause education, boardroom dynamic and how that can impact wellbeing levels, and even investor involvement. Big thanks to all those HRs who attended. For anyone keen to be involved in our future Client Wellbeing Series please get in touch with Zofia, she would love to hear from you – zofia.sharman@hanoversearch.com
Today is World Mental Health Day and this years theme is Suicide Prevention. Why do we need a day to raise awareness and focus on Mental Health? As there are still too many people who suffer in silence, are scared to talk openly for fear of judgement or lack of understanding over such a complex issue. Here at Hanover, mental health is extremely important to us and we ensure we put our employees mental health and wellbeing at the forefront of what we do and is central to our values as a business. If you feel alone today or just a little down, please do reach out to a friend or family member and talk. The Mental Health Foundation message today is one of hope, hope is like oxygen for our mental health, is the vital ingredient in supporting people to hold on, below is a link to a blog from their Chief Executive, Mark Rowland. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMYlR

Someone develops it every three minutes and there’s currently no cure. HSG are proud to be involved in this event and supporting such a deserving charity! We would really appreciate your help and support in raising money for this great charity. Any amount no matter the size will make a difference. HSG’S WELL-BEING PROGRAMME - On Friday we enjoyed the third instalment of our Well-being Programme hosted by Zofia Sharman - All About Relationship. The topic was on Sleep and this being a “Golden Time” that many of us can dismiss. We looked into Movement where we considered the importance of what we do in our day and how we are being with ourselves i.e. if we’re feeling connected or not and if it affects how we go to sleep and its quality and also how we wake up too; sleep being a cycle within a 24 hour day. We loved doing the gentle exercises Gill Randall, Physiotherapist showed us that we can try throughout our work day at our desks to help bring ourselves back into connection. Our favourite was the unravelling of the spine! We were gifted an amazing scented eye pillow that you can even heat up in the microwave to rest on your eyes. Our special thanks to Sara Williams and Gill Randell.

Recruiter: “I’m so sorry, the client didn’t select you for the next round of interviews, this was because of X” Candidate: “ok, their loss, not mine, I don’t agree at all with the reason though” As Recruiters delivering feedback is a fundamental part of our role, but how many of us give the whole contents? Or do we tend to sugar coat it, downplay it, gloss over it, provide a generic reason to not offend the person, or even not give feedback at all… Click here to enjoy the insightful crisp read on mental healthiness from our Wellbeing Ambassador, Zofia Sharman - All About Relationship...
