Iglu Charity Week in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital! This week we are holding our very first Charity Week in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital. As one of Iglu's chosen charities, it's an opportunity for us to raise money and awareness whilst also having some fun! From Monday 1st September - Sunday 7th September we are running a step challenge, our target is 500,000 steps! That’s approximately the same as us travelling from Great Ormond Street Hospital in London to Paris! On Tuesday 2nd September we held our Grate Iglu Bake-off where we enjoyed some delicious sweet treats in our Portsmouth and Wimbledon offices. On Wednesday 3rd September we held our virtual battleships tournament. Today - Thursday 4th September we are hosting our Board games social, we have all of our favorite childhood games from Buckaroo to Cluedo! Every day, around 750 children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential. #lovewhatwedo
We're delighted to be able to share the news that a member of our team, Daniel Grayburn has earned a coveted spot in the TTG '30 under 30' cohort for 2025/2026. 🎉 Overall, there were 130 applicants with a multi-step selection process, so this is an outstanding achievement! TTG (Travel Trade Gazette) is one of the key travel trade media companies in the UK. They run the programme to highlight the 'next generation of travel leaders' and over the year there will be opportunities for them to gather, network and learn. #lovewhatwedo #boldandambitious
What a truly brilliant day it was onboard Virgin Voyages' fourth ship, the Brilliant Lady, on August 19th! Our team from Iglu.com was among the first to explore this magnificent vessel, designed with an exceptional level of comfort and meticulous attention to detail. From guided tours showcasing her sustainable initiatives and stunning cabins to engaging with the executive team and sampling award-winning dining, every aspect underscored Virgin Voyages' innovative approach. The experience, including visits to the expansive spa and enjoying the new 'Out Of Time' show, offered unique Learning and Development opportunities. A huge thank you to Virgin Voyages, especially Jack Atherton, for hosting us. We are incredibly excited for the Brilliant Lady's journey, particularly to Alaska next year! #virginvoyages #lovewhatwedo
On Saturday August 16th, our team will take part in a triathlon sprint at Dorney Lake, aiming to raise £1,000 for Disability Snowsport UK. For the past three years, Iglu Ski has taken part in the London Marathon, running on behalf of DSUK. In 2023, our Head of Commercial, Gordon Ritter, and Ski Sales Consultant, Lucas Lambert, raised almost £7,500 for DSUK. In 2024, our Head of Sales, Phillip Wright, not only raised almost £2,000 for DSUK, he finished the London Marathon in under four hours - an incredible feat. This year, our Senior Marketing Executive, Joe Bowler, and SEO Executive, Francesco Fuca, will be running the London Marathon on behalf of DSUK. Best of luck! Away from the marathon, Iglu Ski also hosts regular fundraising activities in the office. Iglu Ski is proud to support DSUK, a snowsports charity with a vision of barrier-free access to the ski slopes. Their mission is to make snowsports accessible to everyone, and we’ve made it our mission to help them do that. #lovewhatwedo
Our recent discussions on nurturing talent have been top of mind, and we've been thinking about how to make our hiring process as smooth and effective as possible. While our ATS is a huge help in managing applications, we know the real magic happens during the interviews. We're always looking for ways to improve our interview process, making it more efficient for us and a better experience for the candidates. We believe a well-structured interview process not only helps us find the right person but also gives applicants a clear and positive impression of our company culture. So, we want to hear from you! What are your top tips for running an efficient and impactful interview process? Do you use a structured scoring system, or have a specific way to debrief with the team? Let's share some wisdom on how to make every interview count! #TalentAcquisition #Recruitment #InterviewTips #Hiring #HRBestPractices #Igludotcom #FutureOfWork
Learning & Development at iglu.com... Last Saturday, some of our Iglu.com team enjoyed a fab familairisation day onboard the Sky Princess, thanks to our fantastic partners at Princess Cruises! For new starters these familiarisation trips are invaluable. They offer a firsthand look at the amazing cruise products we offer, helping us truly understand the customer experience. But it's not just about product knowledge! In our hybrid working model, these trips are a brilliant opportunity for team members to connect, collaborate, and build relationships with colleagues they don't always get to see. And let's be honest, when "learning" involves tasting all the best food onboard, it barely feels like work at all! A huge thank you to Millie from Princess Cruises, and our wonderful Kelly Backhouse and Kyle Turner for making the day so special. It's a great reminder that #LearningAndDevelopment doesn't always have to be about PowerPoints. Sometimes, it can be so much fun, you don't even notice you're learning! #PrincessCruises #TeamWork #EmployeeExperience #CruiseLife
