We're on the hunt for good cat and dog causes to support this year! We've been supporting over 135 charities locally after last year's Facebook campaign, where customers nominated their preferred local charity via the store's Facebook page and our customers voted on which one their local store should support. This year, we'd like each store to support a cat charity and a dog charity! So, if you know of a good cause (cat or dog related) that would benefit from some food donations and generating awareness / campaign support locally through store activities, make sure you nominate your preferred charity before Weds 14th May! Simply find the store Facebook page for your local Jollyes and add your nomination in the comments. Good luck to all the nominations! :)
On Sunday, a brave pack of Jollyes colleagues (lead by 'top dog' CEO Joe) took to the streets of Southport in the 'Mad Dog 10k' - an annual event that was well received and sponsored by Jollyes for the local community. Whilst some sprinted round like greyhounds, others took a little more time and most were a bit 'dog tired' on Monday, but a great day was had by all! Well done to all the runners and special thanks to the amazing volunteers and 'mad dog' team for making it all happen.

Our new openings programme is keeping us busy! We were thrilled to bring the Jollyes team to Nuneaton recently and have more stores due to open in Blackburn, Chester and East Kilbride in the coming months. Cutting the ribbon was The Rt. Hon. Countess Bathurst, Trustee of the National Foundation for Retired Service Animals (NFRSA) accompanied by some of our ambassadogs and NFRSA ex-service dogs (police) with their handlers, and Jollyes store team and support colleagues.
Yesterday we announced an exciting partnership for Jollyes with the National Foundation for Retired Service Animals. The partnership will run alongside the local charities each of our 100-plus stores support and our charity partnership with BILLYCHIP CIC. We will help NFRSA support the care, well-being, and welfare of retired service animals from across the emergency service family - the police, fire, border force, NHS and prison services. The partnership will start at the opening of our Nuneaton store on Friday 28th June and revamped Newcastle store on Saturday 29th June. Over the next 12 months, all stores will be raising money for NFRSA with collections matched by Jollyes up to £20,000 that will help NFRSA support retired service animals and their owner. The founder of NFRSA, Countess Bathurst said “Jollyes’ passion is for pets and their families and the NFRSA’s passion is for retired service animals across the country, so our amazing new partnership has the most extraordinary synergy and energy. Our duty is to care for them at every level and I’m delighted and deeply grateful that Jollyes and the NFRSA are joining hands to make that happen.” Our CEO Joe Wykes said “...I’m thrilled that in both Nuneaton and Newcastle we’ll be launching our partnership with NFRSA – we already know how generous our customers and colleagues are and we’ll work hard over the coming months to make a real difference for the retired service animals under their care.”
We were delighted to share at our annual conference a review of the past year at Jollyes. We're so proud of our "pack", and the outstanding work and results which have been driven by our colleagues across the business. A huge thank you to each and every one of you and of course our supplier partners who help to ensure we deliver a great experience day in day out for our customers!
