“One of the most memorable aspects of my internship was hearing from former interns and leaders who shared about their professional journeys. I appreciated being able to pick their brains and ask questions about various topics. This opportunity was inspiring and helped me grow both professionally and personally. Enjoy every moment of the internship; not only the work, but the entire experience of being a Merakian! Enjoy the city, meet people, try new things, and learn. Most importantly, be willing to leave your comfort zone and learn how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. This is the best path for growth!” – Agabus L., #CiscoMeraki Network Support Intern Read Agabus’ full story here ⬇️

“Women's History Month is a time to reflect on everything women have fought for throughout time. The Suffrage Movement, the Equal Rights Movement, the Equal Pay Act, and the freedom to express our own identities are a few milestones, among many, worth celebrating. Women’s History Month is an opportunity to highlight female leaders paving the road for future generations. Meraki has empowered me to bring my whole self to work and openly share my life outside of work. Not only has Meraki made it comfortable for me to be myself, Meraki values my professional ideas and visions. I appreciate that Meraki considers employee feedback to inform critical company decisions—it shows how much Meraki cares.” – Charlotte Woods Jackson, #CiscoMeraki Returns Team Supervisor, Chicago, Illinois Interested in learning more about Charlotte’s career journey and what Women’s History Month means to her? "When I joined Meraki, I immediately noticed that many people come from different cultures. Since I also come from a different culture and have an accent, it was reassuring to realize I was not alone. I instantly felt more comfortable and included, which was a great feeling. However, I still felt self-conscious about my accent and talked to my lead about it. My lead encouraged me to be myself and from that point on, I embraced who I am. As a member of Connected Black Professionals (CBP), I’ve had the opportunity to network, meet like-minded people, and connect with those who share the same skin color and history as me. As a Black person, being a part of CBP has made it easy to see myself and feel included at Meraki. As Black History Month approaches, I am reminded of everything my ancestors have experienced and how far we've come in our society. At the end of the day, what makes me most proud about my culture is what makes me different. It can be easy to want to ‘fit in,' but being different makes you unique.
