The commitment to safety by our people is crucial on our journey to achieve 'zero harm' to all employees. Their training efforts underpin our safety culture. Earlier this year our Kempten senior management team completed their new 'TAKE 5 Training'. As part of the training, the team completed an 'Escape Game', with a scenario of unsafe practices set up on-site. The group worked together to identify the safety risks and implement the correct measures to address each risk quickly and safely. The 'Escape Game' was a success and will become a fixed element of all the site's leadership 'Take 5 Training' going forward; showing the value of practical, hands-on-learning. Thank you to the Kempten team, and all those across our Morgan business who thinkSAFE and Take 5 for safety.

We play a crucial role in helping the world become more sustainable. We do this through the products we make, and the way that we make them. Our products help our customers to be more efficient – to use less energy in their manufacturing process or in their product, and to generate less CO2. We are also working hard to decarbonise our own operations – to produce our products more efficiently and to reduce our own CO2 emissions and manage our water usage more sustainably. We have a solid plan for the coming years and are making good progress so far. At this point our absolute CO2 emissions are around 40% down on our 2015 starting point.

The Morgan Brothers founded The Patent Plumbago Crucible Company in Battersea, London, in 1856. Did you know... Plumbago was chosen as it was the name originally given to the graphite used in our crucibles. Our clay-graphite mix was key to our success, offering a 50% saving on time, fuel and waste for our customers. Want to know more? Take a look at our history timeline.
