It’s June! Which means Pride Month 🌈 and Volunteers’ Week 🤝 Both great reminders that making a difference goes beyond the day job. At NHSPS, that’s actually one of our key EVP pillars “Making a Difference” and for us, that shows up in lots of ways. From supporting the NHS estate every day, to creating inclusive environments and giving back to our communities, it’s about having a positive impact in the work we do (and how we do it). We offer up to two days of paid volunteering leave each year, alongside opportunities to get involved in fundraising and community activity - so there’s space for colleagues to support causes that matter to them, in and outside of work. You’ll see this come to life through moments like Pride Month, and through the work of our Responsible Business function, which brings together Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Social Impact - but it’s really something that runs across the whole organisation. If being part of an organisation where purpose, community and inclusion genuinely matter is important to you, we offer a wide range of teams and functions where you can make that difference. 👉 You can find out more on our NHS Property Services Ltd Life page and check out our careers too! #nhs #nhsps #nhspropertyservices #getgrowkeep #pridemonth #volunteerweek #responsiblebusiness
Our CEO Martin Steele appeared before the Health and Social Care Select Committee to discuss the role of the NHS estate in delivering neighbourhood health services. Martin shared our practical experience of using the existing estate more effectively, through flexible and adaptable space and better utilisation, to help bring care closer to home and support neighbourhood health in practice. NHSPS is delivering 11 sites in the first wave of NHCs over the next 12 months. At NHS Property Services, recognising our colleagues is a core part of our culture. During Recognition Week, we took time to celebrate colleagues across the organisation who bring our values to life every day. The week culminated in our Celebration of Champions webinar, bringing colleagues together to recognise individuals and teams who go above and beyond to support others, collaborate across teams and make a meaningful impact for NHSPS and the wider NHS . The Champions Awards recognise not just outcomes, but the values that matter most — communities, collaboration, colleagues and commitment. These moments of shared celebration reflect the pride we have in our colleagues and the supportive, inclusive culture we continue to build. Alongside Recognition Week, we also launched our refreshed Recognition scheme, making it easier for colleagues to recognise and thank each other throughout the year. The new approach encourages everyday appreciation and helps ensure recognition is timely, meaningful and accessible to all. Celebrating our colleagues — through both awards and everyday recognition — is central to our promise and to creating a place where people feel valued, supported and proud to belong.
✨ Company Update: Launch of the NHSPS Long Service Scheme ✨ We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Long Service Scheme — something colleagues across the organisation have been looking forward to for many years. This marks an important step forward in how we recognise and celebrate the dedication and long‑term contribution of our people across NHSPS and the wider NHS. The scheme has been shaped around what matters most to colleagues, offering meaningful recognition at key service milestones and reinforcing our commitment to valuing those who choose to build their careers with us. Feedback from across the organisation has played a key role in ensuring the scheme feels relevant, appreciated, and aligned with our values.

Last week, we celebrated remarkable stories from our colleagues and teams at the Colleague Awards 2024. Colleagues gathered at the Crowne Plaza in Nottingham to honour the winners during an evening reception hosted by our CEO, Martin Steele. “The Colleague Awards highlight the finest aspects of NHSPS – our exceptional people, our vibrant culture, and the quality service we provide to our customers,” Martin stated. “I’m extremely proud of the calibre of submissions we received this year; the judges had a challenging task in selecting the winners, which reflects the incredible work done by everyone here.” During the ceremony, we also honoured colleagues with a Long Service Award, recognising significant milestones in their careers at NHSPS, as well as paying tribute to those we have sadly lost during their service. This celebration not only showcased our collective achievements but also reinforced the enduring spirit and commitment of our NHSPS community.
