Restores very own Jez Tibbetts was speaking at ReThink Productivity last week. Sharing best practices with retailers around productivity and his story of being the Director of Service Delivery within Restore Records Management
This week we launched This Is Me our diversity data capture campaign, asking colleagues to share some of their personal information that will help us take action and make decisions that support and celebrate everyone that works here. We launched the survey early for our Senior Management Teams and had a 100% response rate and support. In the first 24 hours of launching this to colleagues, we’ve already had over 500 responses and counting. We're asking questions people would expect to see around things like Disability, Ethnicity, Gender, Religion, Sexuality and so on. We've also added new questions around Neurodiversity, Parental and Caring responsibilities and involvement with the Armed Forces, the latter as we are proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant. As part of our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) strategy we’re keen to make data-led decisions that make a difference to the people that work here and this campaign will give us what we need to do just that. Alongside the campaign, we're also promoting six free online courses for colleagues all about Diversity and Inclusion and there is much more to come in the second half of the year. Exciting times ahead in this area for us.
Exciting news! We’ve been awarded a Public Sector Alliance Award! 🏆 🎉 We’re incredibly proud to share that we have been crowned winner of the Innovation in Records Management award for our work with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) This was one of our biggest projects to date - helping the DWP optimise and streamline a whopping 28.5 MILLION files. 😮 Redefining Reduction by saving time, money and space! It was no easy feat, but thanks to the hard work of our team we successfully: ✔️ Reduced the inventory by 50% ✔️ Saw 2,200 tonnes of confidential waste securely destroyed ✔️ Lowered the number of files they may want to digitise when the time is right A heartfelt thank you to our team who worked tirelessly to complete the project and a special thank you to the DWP for placing your trust in us to get the job done.

Restore achieves Bronze Award from the Ministry of Defence. We are proud to announce that we have achieved the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Bronze Award from the Ministry of Defence, in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces. It’s a great example of how we’re living our purpose to ‘Deliver a Secure and Sustainable Future’ for our colleagues, our customers and for the communities that we are part of. Earlier in the year I confirmed that we had signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant, making public our pledges to support those who serve or have served, their families and loved ones. David Wilson, Head of Risk, is leading the way in building a community of colleagues who have previously served in the forces or have loved ones who are currently serving. We are also offering support to colleagues who give their time as Reservists and Cadet Volunteers with additional paid leave to support their training. I know that our support to the Armed Forces is something that many of you are immensely proud of. I am too, and we will continue to do so as a company.
October is Black History Month here in the UK. Black History Month was created to focus attention on the contributions of black people to the world. It serves as a time where we can reflect on the great progress that has been made around the world and the positive impact many black people have made throughout history. Black History Month started in America and was founded by an historian named Carter G. Woodson and was originally called Negro History Week. In America Black History Month takes place in February as Abraham Lincoln and Fredrick Douglass were both born in February and helped end slavery in America. It was only in 1987 that Black History Month was first celebrated in the UK, thanks to Kyaaba Addai-Sebo. Black History Month also gives us the opportunity to help highlight the struggles that the community is still going through and how more still needs to be done to help reach equality, it is a time where we can help plan the future so the world can be a much more inclusive place.
Restore has signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant. The Covenant is a pledge to support those who serve, or have served, in the Armed Forces and have given so much to protect our nation and our way of life, as well as the families that love and support them. Restore have many veterans across the Group and with this commitment we hoping to increase this. We’ll be doing more through the covenant to support them as they transition to life outside of the forces into roles at Restore. We will be supporting colleagues who choose to be members of the Reserve Forces by providing additional paid leave for their annual two-week training camp.
