In an expert panel at Falling Walls, co-hosted by Sartorius, thought leaders from industry and research discussed the applicability of generative AI in the development of Advanced Therapies. “Generative AI has the potential to transform how medicines are made today. "World's Top Companies for Women 2023" – Sartorius part of Forbes ranking for the first time For the third time, Forbes and the market research company Statista awarded multinational corporations that have been evaluated by around 70,000 women worldwide in multiple independent surveys. A total of 400 companies worldwide were awarded, and Sartorius was among the top 300. The ranking is based on three criteria: In the Employer Brand Score, respondents evaluated their own employer as well as other companies in their industry on a range of gender-related topics. A public survey conducted only by women measured how companies are perceived in terms of gender equality. The Leadership Score measures the number of CEO, board and executive committee positions held by women. Despite initial signs of recovery at the end of the third quarter, soft customer demand that lasted longer than expected shaped the business development of the life science group Sartorius in the first nine months of 2023. After pandemic-related extraordinary business and inventory buildup by customers had triggered strong additional growth momentum in previous years, the company recorded declines in sales revenue and profitability. “2023 will be a year of normalization for Sartorius as well as for the market as a whole. We expect the business situation to continue to improve slightly in the fourth quarter, especially in the Bioprocess Solutions division, and anticipate profitable growth in 2024 and beyond,” said Sartorius CEO Joachim Kreuzburg. Sartorius has made it once again into Forbes’ List of the World's Best Employers. Forbes magazine, in collaboration with research institute Statista, surveyed 170,000 full- and part-time employees of multinational companies across more than 50 countries to identify the best employers in terms of talent development, remote working options, parental leave benefits, diversity, work-life balance and pride in the product or services the company offers. Sartorius has announced its long-term plans to expand its existing site in Ajdovščina, Slovenia, into a campus within the next ten years. The plans were unveiled at the 25th anniversary celebration of BIA Separations, which Sartorius acquired in 2020. During the ceremony, attended by Sartorius Executive Board members Joachim Kreuzburg and René Fáber, a new building was inaugurated at the existing site. According to the new concept, approximately 200 new skilled positions could be created at the future campus. The site is projected to have a total area of around 30,000 square meters and will be a multifunctional complex comprising production, research, and education facilities. The campus will be designed to be sustainable, including a solar power plant and technologies to recycle by-products for heating and water reuse. Read more: https://srtrs.info/w6tj4
Sartorius is expanding its climate strategy and targets to include the long-term goal of fully decarbonizing its business activities by 2045. The company plans to achieve climate neutrality by continuously decarbonizing along the value chain with customers and suppliers and offsetting unavoidable residual emissions in line with the Paris Climate Agreement. An important step in this ambition will be the transition to 100% renewable electricity across the company’s more than 60 sites worldwide by 2030. Furthermore, the Group's medium-term climate targets, which were announced in 2021 and include an average reduction of emissions intensity by 10% per year, are now to be supplemented by science-based climate targets. With National Coming Out Day approaching, Inara Mueller, Field Service Engineer in the Greater Philadelphia area, shares her experiences as a transgender woman in the biotech industry as well as insights and tips. "I think what makes terms like transgender and cis a little difficult for some people to understand is the common misconception that gender is just one concept. There are essentially four dimensions to gender: identity, expression, sex, and attraction. The misconception is that your anatomical sex automatically corresponds to your identity and expression.
