It’s LGBTQ+ History Month - an opportunity to celebrate and raise awareness of the history and lived experiences of the LGBTQ+ community. We spoke to Tony Chilton, London co-chair of the LGBTQ+ Network committee at Which? to find out what the month means for him. 'I think this month is a crazy mix. I’ll always continue to remember, and celebrate the figures in our history who have campaigned or fought for the rights and relative safety of LGBTQ+ people today, like Marsha P Johnson. I’ll also remember the people who have affected our lives in other ways, in spite of living in a time where they couldn’t be accepted for their true selves, like Oscar Wilde or Alan Turing. It's a timely reminder that LGBTQ+ people have always existed and contributed, and how much there is at stake for us here, now and in the future if we do not remember the lessons of the past.’
Which? research finds the combined impact of both mobile and broadband bills going up at the same time could see customers facing an annual price increase of £60 per year - or exit fees that could cost a total exceeding £500. 'Telecoms providers must do the right thing by halting unfair price hikes immediately, rather than piling more misery on their customers.' Rocio Concha Galguera, Which? Director Advocacy and Policy. #TheRightToConnect
Telecoms firms must do the right thing - scrap their plans for unfair price hikes this April and end unpredictable in-contract price increases once and for all, so everyone can understand what they will pay when they sign a contract for these essential services. https://lnkd.in/exWPZ9et #TheRightToConnect #CallItOut

'Millions of people face price rises they could never have predicted when they signed broadband or mobile contracts and may struggle to afford. Given the regulator has found inflation-linked mid-contract price rises harm consumers and set out proposals to ban them, it would be unconscionable for telecoms providers to proceed with these hikes. Telecoms firms must do the right thing - scrap their plans for unfair price hikes this April and end unpredictable in-contract price increases once and for all, so everyone can understand what they will pay when they sign up to a contract for these essential services.' Last week, we teamed up with the charity Open Palm®to host more than 35 secondary school students from diverse groups. The aim of the day was to empower and encourage young people (aged 16 to 18) to get involved in work experience and network, as well as gain insight into the work Which? does and career advice. Facilitator of the event, Karen Stone said: ‘I was so amazed by the young people who visited us for the day, how interested they were in what we had to say and how much they took in over the day which was evident in their presentations! Can't wait for the next one!’ Comments from the students included: ‘Which? is amazing! It was an honour to be able to participate today!’, ‘Surprised by all the services Which? provides, such as Legal services’ and ‘Before this event I wasn't expecting anything intriguing, well surely I was wrong and it's been amazing.’ We look forward to hosting three-day work experience placements for several students early next year. #Careers #Diversityandinclusion
